The only way to score points in NRL Dream Team is through a team win, a try, or a conversion. Really, really stupid competition if you ask me. Where are the rewards for hit-ups, tackles, try assists etc. Lamo

You are right I don't know the rules of this 'competition'.

That said I have to agree with Mike. RL is more tactical than that where there is more to the game than just scoring.

I mean a team can't be in a position to score if it has no go forward, you have to understand than many players in the team are reliant on the (differing) roles of other players in the team.

There will be a new fantasy comp very soon called FanLeague which will include points for tackles, hitups, metres gained, line breaks, try assists and other such stats.

A question for the league fans here: if you had to create a new system which gave points for each stat, what number of points would you assign each stat?

I've been testing out various values and here's what I'm working with now:

tries = 25
try assists = 15
conversions = 10
conversion miss = -5
penalty goals = 10
penalty goal miss = -5
field goal = 10
field goal miss = -5
hitups = 1
metres gained (which types should count?) = 0.5 per metre of all types, rounded down
line breaks = 4
line break assists = 2
tackles = 1
missed tackles = -2
errors = -4
40-20s = 5
penalties = -5
sin-bin = -10
send-off = -20

I've found that with this system you get about the top three or four players in each team scoring above 100.
