From Football Insight

"17 year old Magpie defender Antal Reti
is the round 5 Casuarina Square nomination
the 2001 NTFL U16 Hickman medalist played 2
senior games last season and has now added
another 4 with the undefeated ladder leaders.
antal prepresented the NT at U16 and 18 levels in 2001
playing as a rover/midfielder.
His performances with the Territory Thunder at U18 level
have earned him an invitation for a 2002 ntis athlete
scholarship.
The talented youngster only turned 17 on the 17th of
October and his tireless direct approach to the ball and
contests is amajor reason the magpies have retained
the depth of playing telent after last season's premiership."

Results round 7

Saints.....1.2..7.4....13.8...14.13(97)
Darwin...3.2....6.5...12.6..13.8(86)

Darwin had plenty of the ball in the first q
as they managed to lock play down in their '50,
but weren't able to capitalize on the advantage.
Buffs forwards Simon Muraka and Ryan Ayres were
good early.
Saints through veterans Victor Dunn patrick long
and cyrol rioli kept at the buffs throats,
gradually overwelming them in the final stages.
A good close game.

Very good performance from Craig McGough (rover)

Killer,
How's the standard these days. Last games I saw were about 5 years ago & I thought it had improved dramatically on the past. Seems to be a less even comp in terms of the bottom teams but more even at the top.

Results NTFL

Palmerston..1.7....3.13..8.13..15.21(111)
Wanderers...1.1....2.1....5.2.....5.3(33)

Wanderers put up a good fight for 3 quarters.
Palmerston played like the haven't trained in a
week. Stronach was on the bench all day.

Darwin........1.3...6.8..12.8...13.9(89)
Waratahs...3.4....4.7..9.7...13.9(89)

Darwin dominated should have been in
front by 4 goals at the last change (but for
some stupid errors and bad umpiring).

Singh went for a mark and was collected by Buffs
captain Micheal Williams.

Took them 7 minutes to get him off the
ground.

"Take the girl off"
(Chorus of old buffaloes as the Waratahs
forward lay on the ground)

Smith 6 Singh 4 for Waratahs
Ayres 4 for the Double Blues

The Aboriginal Allstars game which
was going to be played on Australia

Haven't AFL pre-season games been played there?

Games this weekend

Darwin v Nightcliff
Darwin regain Corey Ahchee from P/Adelaide
This should see them over the line.
Micheal Williams is out for most of
the rest the season for the late hit on
Singh.

Saint Marys v Wanderers
Could be close but I think Wanderers blew their
last chance of a win for the season against
Southern Districts.

Waratahs v Palmerston
B.Singh has gone home
and is unlikely to come back.

Prediction
Darwin by 5
Saints by 10
Palmerston by 30

All games on Saturday at Football Park.

Under threats of legal action (i.e if someone stubs a toe)
games could be moved from Football Park (to suburban
grounds if it rains tommorow.)

Its raining at the moment....

Kelvin Mahers not playing this season

AhChees been back 2 weeks brilliant player
has turned the season round for the Buffaloes.

Baj Singh (ex West Adelaide now Peel)
is the NT News pin up boy the they never
shut up about his marking ability (an average
15 a games in recent games)

Phil Smith (ex Port Adelaide now maybe Glenelg)
been averaging 4-5 goals a game.
Good full forward got a bit frustrated on
the weekend spent the whole day wrestling
with David Parfitt.

One of the Davey brothers (Palmerston)
has gone to P/Adelaide they'er both pretty
good.

Apparently Trent Hentschel (Palmerston) is
burning up the track in Adelaide.

The Motlop Brothers were having a kick to kick
(barefoot) at half time during the Darwin/Wanderers
game.

I haven't sighted Norm Murphy for a while.
Must be injured. Not the same player he was
before he spent 2 years in the reserves for Sturt.

Darrel White was at Football Park before Christmas.

Andrew Mcleod wanted to act as Palmerston's runner
but he was banned cause of a fear he might hurt himself
or someone could hurt him (insurance).

Jason Burgonue (p/adelaide)
Won the News player of the week for Nightcliff
against Palmerston

Thanks Maestro

Any other youngsters we can expect to see in the NT team during the rep games or names that might feature around draft time. Guys like Squires or Masters?
