Cheers, Tarrant will be a new man next year with a different number and apparently he will have a kicking coach all pre-season.

Some more encouraging words from Mayne in that article about how proud he is to be wearing Parkers number.

ROFL...

I just knew Kepler was destined to wear Clive's number!!!! :D :D

Interesting Tazza has grabbed JLo's number - I thought Nockers might have been a chance for it, and that Taz might have wanted to make a name for himself at Freo with a different number than what he wore at Collingwood. But hey, what would I know? I'm just an intersested observer. ;)

Draftees honoured with Life Members jumpers

The jumpers made famous by retired Life Members Troy Cook, James Walker and Shane Parker will be back in action in Season 2008 after the No. 10, 19 and 23 jumpers were handed over to the club’s NAB AFL Draftees.

Fremantle’s first round selection (No. 7 overall) in the 24 November draft, Rhys Palmer, will continue the No. 10 midfield dynasty after being allocated the jumper Troy played his 150 games with the club in.

Clayton Hinkley will continue the trend of country Victorians wearing the No. 19 guernsey following his allocation of James’ former number. James played 151 matches for the club between 1998 and 2007, seeing him become the first Victorian born player to achieve Life Membership status with Fremantle.

The club’s third round selection (No. 40 overall) Chris Mayne received the honour of being allocated the most worn jumper in Fremantle’s history – that of club games record holder Shane. Shane wore the No. 23 throughout his 13 year career with the club, making Chris just the second person to don the jumper in Fremantle’s history.

Chris Tarrant will also have a new number on his back in 2008 after switching from the No. 17 jumper he wore this season to the No. 20 jumper. Chris wore 20 during his nine years at Collingwood and, with Justin Longmuir’s retirement freeing the number up, will again wear the number he wore when he was the Magpies leading goalkicker in 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004 as well as when he earned All Australian selection (2003).

Mark Johnson will claim ownership of the No. 17 jumper following Chris’ decision to take No. 20 and Kepler Bradley will wear 26.

Josh Head will wear Robbie Haddrill’s former jumper, No. 42, while rookies Luke Pratt and Brent Connelly will wear 13 and 44 respectively.

Poor old Pratty. Hopefully he can beat the jinx. It really is an unlucky 13.
