Its an accumulation of bad decisions. Not demanding more for Houston or forcing him to stay (it would be ridiculously easy to get it done this year by shipping him out), and massively overpaying for Esava and Soldo, has just capped off a shocking couple of years of list management that's put us in the situation we're in now.

Even if we do get him in, its likely to result in us using up multiple FFs, and the most promising young forward since Todd.

1. For that trade to be fair Collingwood really needed to add a top 5 pick to it.
2. We shouldn't have been making a fair trade with GC, as they were trying to get rid of Luko's salary. That wasn't even factored in to the deal.

Any toxic environment is only being caused by Hinkley and Cornes still being there. They'll both be gone in a month.
