Port Adelaide always expected to bend over, spread cheek$ and bite down hard whenever prospective trades are brought up.

How about St.Kilda just cop whatever deal they get, in return for being a pointless club that should have been Fitzroy'd years ago?

Yeah I’m in no mood to give up a King’s ransom after barely netting a late 1st and a late 2nd for All-Australian Dan Houston with 3 years left on his contract. If the climate dictates that you get screwed by players on the way out then we need to be the beneficiaries when they come in.

Non-Victorian club tax

I think even the AFL would step in to stop that deal 🤣

Never mind the AFL, there are crom supporters on the main thread that would go medieval on SOS's arse if he agreed to that.

No chance that deal would happen , it’s well unders, but the fact you think it’s so far unders the afl should step in shows how one eyed and ignorant you are.

On a scale of overpaid to underpaid so badly.. 13 fringe player for Houston , pick 25 for an ooc esava and 3 2nds for a shot soldo weren’t even remotely close to getting the ire of the afl.

That you think future 1st wines lord and soldo are incredibly worse than those deals is on you.

Yep. If anyone has ever paid attention to those equalisation payments the afl releases not only do the saints always get propped up, the gap between how much they’ve received and the 4th most received is often massive.

Yes.

Crows don’t seem to pay the non vic tax like we do. Dawson and Rankine were good deals. As was ANB and Peatling.

We pay first rounders for second string defenders.
Alir was a good deal for us, most dont involve a Vic side and ANB is old so never was going to be high value

I'm still of the mind that if Nas was to leave the Saints then he's going to a club where a premiership is more likely, not a club going through a rebuild phase. Further to that, if you were his age would you go to Port for less money or stay with St Kilda for mega bucks?

He could go to the crows and win 2 or 3 flags in the next few years or come to Port and deal with the shell of a once proud club. Benefits of Port is that there is limited desire for the ultimate success, so he could coast and still get shitloads of money. St

Crows last premiership was 1997, im not sure he should be convinced they or us are going to win one. If this was his objective head to Hawks, Collingwood or Richmond

Saints have low balled him.

We’ve have players come here for less before.

He wants to come home and play with his mates.

Lets get it done.

We got a bit shafted on the Houston deal so hopefully we do a bit of shafting back.

Lots of good signs with the club after other players to complement our outstanding game winning type players.

The Death Stare crows?

Last time they were this good it lasted a few minutes.

Likewise Melbourne/Collingwood and maybe Brisbane.

Better add Swans and Carlton to that list as well.

Our list is better than theirs in a couple of years.

There still seems to be people on this board that still don't realise how Ken being the coach for the last 13 years has hamstrung the teams performances. The fact he isn't here next year will automatically make us a better team im expecting a spike how big, not sure but no reason we can't play finals next year especially if we have a decent run with injuries. As for the crows credit to them they have done very well so far this year, but there were signs against Hawthorn a couple of weeks back that they have started coming back to the field a bit even though they were crowing it was one of their best wins I didn't see it that way. Their stars are fine and in their last 2 wins its these guns like rankine and thilthorpe who have got them over the line but I sense their players say from 15 -23 in the team won't go the distance this year, let's see what happens.

The Crows rise this year, is very reminiscent of the Hawks last year. They have taken the comp by surprise a bit. Question is, will they get worked out by other teams at the pointy end?

We shall know soon enough.

The Crows overpaid for ANB. But it was also tied into them giving back to Melbourne the second round pick they'd received for MacAdam.

Also we used a first round pick to get multiple second round picks to pay to multiple clubs for those defenders & Soldo.
