Hypothetically, if he asks for a trade back to SA, it will likely be whichever of Port or Adelaide get us the best deal. If push comes to shove, he would go to the Crows if it meant a trade gets done.
A lot of push back on this post, but to be honest, lots of people on this forum were saying the exact same similarly naive thing about Dan Houston last year, myself included.

Its simply not reality and never is, as much as supporters feel it should be.

If he goes to the Crows its because he decides to nominate them (likely to have a better crack at a flag), and even that seems extremely unlikely at this point.

C4 mentioned Whitlock on this thread. Does anyone know if he mentioned anyone on the equivalent thread (I'm assuming there is one) on the Crows board? I don't ever venture there to find out myself.

C4 also thought Bergs was gone at one point.

You never know how anything will play out until it actually happens

St Kilda have spoken to Whitlock (according to c4) but let’s wait and see if with some AFL exposure hopefully this year, he might re think his return home

Hes also under contract and as far as I am aware there aren't any indications yet that Port would actually let him go.

I think people need to remember the context for trading Whitlock. We aren’t trading him because we have given up on him or want draft picks. We are trading him for one of the best players in the competition. Opportunities like this are rare. If NWM chooses us, bye bye Jack, wish you the best. And it will be as steak knives unfortunately. Albeit sharp ones.

If NWM stays or elects the crows. Whitlock stays.

I wish it was like that but Dan Houston had no interest in joining North Melbourne despite them having a better offer.

Their offer actually was worse than Collingwoods despite talk to the contrary.

It’s not the deal we have to do.

It’s the deal St Kilda want.

We can and will get it done another way.

C4 was pretty clear he didn’t have any info on bergs just that his guess was he was gone.

But why do we have to? It’s not necessary. Nwm either nominates us or not, there is no requirement on his behalf to give Whitlock to the saints.

As for the saints, he’s ooc. We have picks and players more expendable than Whitlock.

If picks and fringe players is what we get offered when our players are poached why is the onus on us to deal quality young players?

There’s no bonus points for being nice guys, as much as they want us to believe that

Difference last year is Port fans were saying if you really wanted to go home desperately to deal with Melbourne / North or hold him to his contract. NWM is not contracted, so it’s completely different.

That being said, once a player nominates, they don’t go anywhere else, despite what the fans want. That was just wishful thinking by our fans last year.

Part of the problem last year was that Houston wasn't even sure where he wanted to play. Melbourne was a done deal till it wasn't. Then he focused on Carlton who didn't want him, before pivoting to Collingwood.

North lurked in the background with the most money on offer, and Port thought North would at some point increase their offer to Port, which would have at that point given Port the ability to either leverage more out of Collingwood or apply pressure on Houston to go to North, because the Collingwood commitment wasn't a firm one.

In the end, North never really offered a deal remotely worth considering.

Yet the morons gave up their 2025 first (pick 2) for Matt Whitlock lmao. Go figure. Dumpster fire of a club in every single aspect.

Yeah well they gave it up for Matt Whitlock and a 2nd round pick in this draft.

As much as it shows North's ineptitude, it also highlights what teams think of this upcoming draft class.

Yes but not worth pick 2 lol. They legitimately thought they would be pushing the 8 this year.

So I'm not allowed to support the other SA club playing their games against other teams except port being from Adelaide? You probably were in your nappies when I was supporting port Adelaide 🤦 I just don't get into the whole pencil swinging that comes about by both supporters with the garbage they sprout.
Well, no, of course not, and it’s quite fitting being showdown week. I mentioned this, but since you’re an older supporter than me, you would have seen our rivals, Norwood, Sturt, and Glenelg, on top of these clubs, and the SANFL rejected our bid to play in the AFL for '91. Then these clubs, as our “rivals”—a word you don’t understand, that did their utmost to get us expelled from the SANFL altogether.

See, you don’t call yourself “Port Patriot” and then publicly say that you support the Adelaide Crows. Like honestly, that’s the worst kind of “supporter” out there. These clubs are major contributors, along with the SANFL, in forming the Adelaide Crows, and you, with that brain of yours, still think that after all the pain this footy club caused to the team that I allegedly support—whose supporter base is mainly derived from our three biggest rivals that put us through hell and back and your still like Yeah, I’ll still support the Adelaide Crows.

Mate, you’re a special kind of special person and worst supporter out there, that’s for sure.

What he said on the stkilda board was that he suspected IF nas wanted to go home he would be part of the deal in some capacity.

The entire post was highly speculative. It could easily be we have wind he might be open to returning home and we have someone like Keeler who might want to go back to SA.

Yea it’s nothing to do with Keeler bud.

Everything posted here, your board and the main board is highly speculative.

From what had been reported, no one has any clue what Nas is doing. Given how late it is though, st kilda would no doubt be getting nervous.

Enlighten me about what’s reported?

Because I’ve seen a lot of talk that we would be getting nervous but the only factual reporting is still Caroline Wilson 3 weeks ago and Carl Dilena (our CEO) interview 3 weeks ago.

There has been not a single factual report other than people getting hopeful because of what your player said post his re-signing.

It’s been regularly stated by Twomey and Morris, the former who is pretty on the money, that NWM is keeping his cards close and no one know what his intentions are.

It would be crazy if Saints weren’t nervous given how late it is.

Christ mate. Tom Morris last night.

“There is no update” and then proceeds to make up some crap.

From our CEO
