I think we are judging Rozee harshly, he has been consistent. He has had 27 or more touches in every game but 2, and the two where he came under the most scrutiny against the Bombers and Saints rounds 3 and 4 he still got 22 and 20 touches.

Yes he’s been far better than Rozee this year.

NWM has been the best half back in the league by a country mile this year. Lachie Ash is the only other player close to his impact from the back half.
far better sounds like a stretch. Statistically there is nothing in it and Rozee is 7th in the overall lead of the AFLCA votes, NWM is not in the top 20.

Rozee has already done the AA, Brownlow, AFLCA votes in the midfield.

If you want to use that as a measure of his performance then good luck. He has them all fooled
Only you, the guy who thinks Jed McEntee is good, can be trusted to judge a player's ability.

The good thing is that with each passing game, Bergman's reputation and subsequent media exposure & commentary is getting bigger and bigger. NWM is without doubt a star, but if Bergman keeps up this trajectory, there wont be much separating them by season's end!

Don’t underestimate the ability of vic media to write a narrative that suits them when it suits them.

Last year when it became obvious Houston and Rioli were each leaving their clubs the narrative for each player was “do you want to stop a player leaving” and “got to pay up if you want your target”

In the end Rioli, an inferior player to Houston got Richmond a far far better trade haul.

It’s a positive that the afl is seeing miles midfield ability , but it won’t mean shit when it comes trade week. The media will say what helps their mates.

And anyone who thinks that public perception doesn’t affect what clubs will do in trade week is naive.

I’m sick to death of people undermining shit acts like making racist remarks, cheating on your partner, etc by labelling it a “mistake”. If you intended to do something it can’t be a mistake.
Yes it was a mistake to say it. But it wasn’t a mistake to think it, it was intentional.

Reminds me of the joke about guy at work who tells his mate “made a faux pas last night at dinner, the good looking waitress came up for my order and instead of Chicken Breast I said Chicken ****.”
His mate says “same thing happened to me at home. I meant to say “Pass me the salt” and instead I said “Thanks for ruining my life”

I really don’t get the need to talk him down. He’s consistent, highly skilled and still on an upward trajectory. I will be over the moon if he nominates us.

Joe Berry and a future first. Haggle for some change from there.

You made me laugh with your proposal, I’m not a Berry fan but you can’t get rid of a first year draftee like he’s a used tissue.
Even by my standards it’s a bit over the top 😂
Also I believe we can’t cut Berry for 2 years anyway?

At this point there is nothing that would make yet another future first seem appealing
if we got NWM for a future first we are getting away with robbery.

I guess the narrative in the media is that we are in full rebuild mode so the saints may be able to sell it as a top 4 pick but even if it was pick 1 it would be worth it.

The guy is a gun.

Update re my earlier post

The AFL media is pathetic, they told us that NWM's decision wont be about money, and that he wants sucess.

So basically stuff we already knew.
Not sure what that actually means, wants to know the Saints future prospects, wants some sort of guarantees etc His highest short term prospect then is to choose the crows. Maybe the Walker stuff is a another misdirection of his intent. Hard to read if its not the money. My preferred outcome is to keep Bergman and nwm to stay for 2years at saints.

He won’t choose the crows,if he decided to leave the Saints. It will be Port and if he wants success why would you choose the Crom who haven’t played final since 2017.
