If he requests a trade, Saints will get less than they want (would happen either way as some fans are wanting 3 first rounders or Butters straight up which is crazy talk), but a deal will be done if he requests Port.

I think it'll take the value of two 1st round picks.

Got a message overnight from someone I trust saying Port could absolutely get a deal done whilst still preserving the requisite draft capital for Cochrane in 26 as an NGA.

I suspect one way would be (in addition to pushing a player or two out) to identify teams with NGA or F/S prospects in this draft who will go in the first round, and acquire their team's first round pick in exchange for multiple lower round picks.

Sounds awesome but will we have the draft capital for 2027 and that big haul.

Would be extremely disappointing if he wanted to come here but we gave up on it because we weren't ruthless enough in gaining the required trade capital. I honestly don't know how it gets done but that is why Davies and Cripps are employed to work out a way. We need to be open to trading players, good players or ones we can sell on potential and original draft positions, our picks in last years draft come to mind.
