Unlikely as it is given the 'bloody' history lol Butters at the Hawks makes them an instant flag contender. The man is a ball magnet, a good and clever user of it under pressure and the absolutely the best kind of pest you want.

Where NAS for us takes us from no-mans-land/infamously-wobbly-finalist well into being a solid finals side, and a proper contender if we can sort our long term key position stability at both ends. He'd bring so much more ball back into F50 that even we with our current game plan would... fail far less often lol. The 'value' of trades is often unequal measured that way.

He may deliver it inside 50 but we need to convert and stop the rebound out for scores.

I am sure the preference is obviously Butters stays and NAS comes. That would give you the best midfield in the comp.

I just wonder if Hawks come hard does Butters request a trade and Port go early?

Nas is actually going to be leaving football in 2026 to join the Wiggles, replacing Anthony Field. An announcement will be made at midnight tonight.

St Kilda will still feel screwed but in line with past deals it's quite generous considering Chris Judd who was without any doubt the best player in the league with a swag of accomplishments to prove it didn't even get WC two firsts and a player. 1 first (albeit pick 3, a second pick 20 and a player who had done bugger all at the time in Josh Kennedy).

Farrell would be another player i would consider throwing in the mix.
