Its reached August and he hasn't resigned, despite everything being thrown at him and his clubs season being over. Would be surprised if Saints fans didn't think he's gone.

Half of them are saying they don’t want to pay 2mil across 7 years and many seem to be highly concerned that we may be offering 7 years at 2mil per.

I’d happily pay that for NAS.

Ironically, the calls for some insane offers of Butters and Bergman would be absolutely out the window if Saints won’t cough up the same money offers we are making.

They can’t say he’s a top 5 player in the comp and then not offer the money that a top 5 player commands and then also request 3 good first rounders and then some.

If they aren’t coughing up the appropriate salary, he is out of contract, and he requests a trade to Port, we might be back to 2 1sts (2026 & 2027) + Berry/Whitlock as a more than fair offer for both parties given those circumstances.

I wonder if Leek Aleer could be apart of a potential mini mega trade among other deals assuming NWN does indeed request a trade to Port?

Saints are offering Aleer $3 million over four years as reported and Giants would be keen for a first rounder back which the Saints aren’t going to do and that will mean another club will need to included in the potential mega deal. A club that needs points potentially.

Port will obviously part ways with their 2026 first rounder and find another first rounder somewhere perhaps by bundling a bunch of picks to either GC, Swans, Lions or Blues for their respectively F/S or Academy players in exchange for their first rounder to be given to the Saints.

Then comes all the pick swaps shenanigans.
