Does seem to be dragging on doesn't it? I mean, surely he knows what he is doing, pretty straight forward you'd think. He's either coming home or not, then he's either at Port or maybe the Crows. For all the talk I hear it won't be the Crows it does make you wonder, but I have nothing to base that on. If he wants to come home and his best mates are Burgers and JHF then it seems clear to me where he'd go.
It's not dragging on, he can't say anything publicly until the season is over.

Nas would know what he wants for next year, I don't buy this undecided narrative. Obviously williams is keeping it close to his chest so it doesn't come out while nas is still playing. If he was staying at the saints he would have signed by now why put your club and fans through this stress if you were staying. If he comes to us we will get a deal done it might involve a third club and we may lose a young player or 2 in the process but I can assure you Butters is going nowhere he will not be part of any deal

Spot on. He will be at Port next year imo. If he was staying at the Saints he would have signed by now.

I can't confirm - it's all speculation from others but he likes being in Vic more than he likes being in Sth Australia atm.
Yes, because if he was in SA atm he'd have to take rest of the season off. It's about where he likes being next year 😉

The club and various media people have already said butters is seeing out his contract at port. And why wouldn’t he want to see how things go under Carr next year before making a call. If butters is the cost of NWM I want out, the framework to get NWM right now wont include butters in my estimated guess.

Bad luck Zak, youre contracted we cant bend over 2 off seasons in a row we have to chance our arm and try to show him theres something here worth staying for

Him leaving would easily be as bad if not worse than our finals performances of 2021 and 2023...

i continue to say this, but Butters leaving talk is vic media driven, he hasnt shown any indication.

We 100% can get a deal done without using butters, Williams and Davies are probs going through our hypothetical deals as we speak

the basis of the trade will be using our 2026,2027 1st picks to either trade to another team to get a 2025, then we need to work out if we need to trade a young player.

2026,2027 1st+ pick 24 + another second from somewhere is preferable, but doubt it is enough.

This isn't necessarily true. If he'd re-signed with St Kilda anywhere between the start of the season and last weekend it would've been a terrible move. His reported contract value seems to be going up by the week and Williams would be sitting there rubbing his hands together.

Having said that, if he doesn't re-sign by the end of the season then that is obviously ominous for St Kilda.

Get GWS, Carlton, GC, Lions and Swans involved.

GWS would want a 1st rounder for Leek Aleer from St Kilda, Carlton will need to offload their compensation pick from TDK for Harry Dean (FS), GC, Lions and Swans will offload their 1st rounders for more points.

Port will offload their 2026 1st rounder and trade whatever future picks; no 2027 1st rounder though and bundle it for draft picks this year and send it to one of Blues, Lions, GC and Swans.

Port gets Nas and still keeps their 2027 1st rounder AND Butters at the very least.😤

All due respect, this is the height of delusion. If we get Nas we'll be lucky to have any fourth round picks left over the next two years, let alone first round picks.

Let me live in my delusion for a little longer. Don’t crush my hopes and dreams.🤣

But yes, dat 2027 1st rounder is gonna be gone.😞

Is trading out the first to get him but getting back as many 2nds or 3rds we can for points the way to go so we can match on NGA etc? Not across all the trading out of 1sts rules but seems like the way to do it in the past to not lose a 1st for no reason but use your later stockpile of picks

I am at the stage now along with alot of saints fans that I would be surprised if he stays at the saints now. No one who isn't homesick leaves it till August to re commit.
Nas obviously is home sick I think he is coming home the only question now is, it to us or the crows? People on the crows board are saying if he doesn't announce anything straight after st.kilda and ports season is over the more chance of him going to adelaide but I think Nas will leave it until after the saints b & f on Sept 29 after the gf.
And if he is coming to us that might be a good thing as if the unthinkable happens and the crows win the flag we will need some happy news after that to ease the pain a little.

Not that it’ll compete with the Saints if they are offering Tex Wanganeen a list spot, but it it does help land Nas, let’s offer Tex spot with SANFL top ups.

If Butters wants to go back to Vic and Nas wants to go back to SA, it will be a very interesting trade period!

I’d want NWM a first rounder and a second rounder at least for Butters.
