So sounds like from Ross own mouth they weren't going to trade him and get nasty probably to the point of forcing him to delist himself and enter the draft or sign what they've offered. Makes more sense now. He and Saints will try and do the same shit in 2 years time as well. I genuinely believe Nas did want to return home now even more so and it was put to him that it would be nasty and a PSD risk of not getting back because they weren't going to trade no matter what.

Shows exactly what sort of footy club Saints are especially with the whole rich friends trying to smooth him over too. And these **** saint supporter on here acting the way they do and calling Port a rabble... 😂 Have to buy their way to some sort of contention because the club is clearly a shit house club and culture overall hence why they bitch and moan all the time. Guess they can enjoy being known as one of the biggest flop clubs with all the wooden spoons and lack of flags through out history.
Whilst I agree that it might have been true that behind the scenes they may have been taking a hard line to a trade. It is an absolutely fantastic approach for them to take, and youre completely wrong to criticise it if it has worked. Thats just your Port Bias trying to criticise because we didn't get what we wanted.

I mean **** being the nice guys like we are all the time. We are a mediocrity accepting joke, because this is the lack of ruthless edge we constantly demonstrate. We should've retained Houston for example. We are too nice, we allow critical players to us like Amon and Houston go easy and give them a nice farewell.

**** that.

Be ruthless.

We should absolutely match any RFA offers for Butters and should absolutely do the same. We must keep him, and he must know he isnt getting out of here easy.

I do agree mostly with what you're saying but there comes a time when players have played several years for that club and are out of contract and should be able to move if they want. It's not a long career in AFL for most players overall, free agency is 8 years at the same club and 4 years is still a long time to be loyal to a club before deciding if they want to move on. I can understand if its 1 to 3 years.. Houston was with Port for 8 years the same as Amon so if they want to go after that many years of service then it's better optics and culture wise for Port to facilitate that trade. Being absolute C U next Tuesday like Ross was is just messed up. Has nothing to do with my Port bias either because I would criticise any team doing it for any player.

Kinda annoyed hearing it. He was acting as if Nas is still contracted when he is out of contract, although not a free agent so Saints can technically do what they want really and be pricks. Terrible club.
All AFL player and coaches contracts are up to 31st October for the relevant year, and they get paid 12 monthly instalments on the 15th, so yes Nas is still in contracted for 2025 and just got a monthly payment and has 2 more to come under the existing contract.

He’s handled things really well.

He doesn’t look sound or play stressed.

People that are stressed or confused about what they are doing in the future in a high-pressure job behave like they are stressed or confused.

Nas has known what he is doing for a while.

Whatever it is
Very observant of you
