I did some research on wild boar for consumption in Australia. Turns out it is wild, and not farmed at all - though is subject to rigorous testing standards, like kangaroos, before it can be sold. Presumably for all the reasons Crimson mentioned. Not to mention that pork in general, what with being omnivorous, can carry a bunch more diseases transmissible to humans then purely grazing animals (hence the Jewish Kosher diet forbidding pork and shellfish - both could be deadly and it’s easier to make rules in a largely illiterate population by just saying God forbids certain stuff). It probably should be eaten more given that roaming pigs are a pest here.

I’ve only eaten Iberico ham from Spain a couple of times and it is definitely wild, but gets its incredible taste from its diet in a particular region. It’s kind of expensive though, but I found a good price online for a 4kg ham online 100% Iberico for $1,400 so tuck in!

I think it’s like dogs. Dog is a species, but male and female can also be dog and bitch.

A boar is a species, but can also be one of several names for a male.

Like mankind referring to humans but woman only referring to female humans.

Further research reveals that tapeworms are hemaphroditic and can self-fertilise so you don’t need a tapeworm and a tapewormette to start a tapeworm farm.

Also they don’t have eyes, a mouth or a brain. With that and the self-fertilisation they don’t need Tinder. Much like tomatoes.

To be fair the OG Jews did live in a time when the only way to preserve anything was to salt cure everything so it made sense that things that we more difficult to preserve would not allowed to be eaten.
