Not for the Giants.waste of time really thought he would be gone from the AFL.
Why wouldn't GWS just take Thornton as an uncontracted player?
They're not going to get anyone else from Carlton.
It is likely the Giants will wait until the free agency period closes on Friday before recruiting Thornton.
After free agency, before trade period finishes im assuming. Will take him as uncontracted player concession they receivedhuh?
So they'll take him in the PSD?
What is the point? Besides screwing Carlton out of a third round pick (lowest possible comp)
GWS haven't lost anyone to FA so it is hardly like they are protecting comp.

Essendon: "Here we go" *opens door* "Well, we're done" *closes door*Carlton: "Don't take those brown paper bags, they're Juddy's."
Collingwood: "Here's where Eddie'll sign you up for Channel 9 exclusives."
Richmond: "Ignore those pills, they're Dusty's."
Gold Coast: "Sorry, we're just going to have to walk around this - looks like Gary's left his wallet here again."
etc
They all actually pulled hammies trying to swing a very, very small cat.Having never seen Essendon's training base... small, is it?![]()

Word coming through is that Clinton young will sign with Collingwood as a free agent.
Can anyone please confirm the rules regarding free agent compo. I was led to believe initially that the AFL had indicated that clubs would recieve only 1 compensation pick regardless of the number of player movements. Port Adelaide for example would only get 1 pick for the loss of Chaplin & Pearce. Both players could potentially be worthy of a 2nd round compo so combined they may recieve a 1st round pick as compensation. I have since read other articles which suggest that the AFL won't combine the total losses & Port are more likley to get 2 picks (maybe 2nd rnd & end of 2nd round). Can anybody, with any certainty confirm which is the correct way? I can't find any clarification on the AFL's site & they seems to have made it vague on purpose.
Anyone think Salopek will find a home? i think he is done in the AFL personally
