Re: Official GVFL thread

As long as they are not the ones from Echuca. They are fowl! (boom tish)

sometimes Rowey just better to think it than type.................

I have heard a few in for the Rochy job including current players , some ex GVFL coaches and also a couple of retired AFL players. Looks like a few at the starting gate. Will be interested to see how long this takes as the appointment after Dirty needs to be a good one or alot of younger blokes will take the coin and ease of playing in Melbourne and not travelling.

Is Dirty still in the mix for the Ky job? If he does take the job is there any chance he might take some Rochy boys with him?

Still in the mix with a few clubs, but I would guess that he wouldn't be likely to take many with him if any wherever he goes.

Large proportion of locals at Rochy and they play there because its home, so doubt they swap to another GV team.

Williams would probably be the best coach going around country football, so why wouldnt any players follow him?
We all know how much he can get out of a club with limited talent!!
Where ever he goes success wont be far around the corner.
IMO I would think quite a few players would make a move with him and the ones that dont would have rocks in their heads.

Like I said, many of the players didn't come to the club because he was the coach, they are there because they are from the area.

You never know though, and it will probably depend on who the new coach is and where Dirty coaches.

Plus, Dirty's coaching style isn't one aimed at making friends.

I disagree - as stated above, I can not see too many Rochy players (if any) moving to Ky just because Dirty may be coaching.

Re: Official GVFL thread

Good Luck to the Swans and Lions on the weekend , Im sure its going to be a cracking Grand Final. Im looking forward to the contest between Looby and Saad , Looby had him last time but Saad does his best work on Grand Final Day .

Re: Official GVFL thread

Yes, your right there head about a new president. I was just on the phone to him this morning actually.

Bad luck on the grand final loss. Did you get a game and did bomber play?
Bomber had probably his best game for the year. My story was a little different.:o:thumbsu:

Re: Official GVFL thread

They're at it again, on the EDFL thread there is the usual talk of who is leaving Seymour etc etc on the eve of the big one. Let the focus remain on Sunday, who else is in the mix from the 22 that won thru a fortnight ago - Habers, Joffa, Ellis???

I hope it's a better game than last year, although I can only remember the first term before being king hit by the vodka's!!! Not only the perfect finale to the footy season, but always a great social outing at Deakin.

Go Lions

Re: Official GVFL thread

He is saying that Dirty is the most passionate bloke going around when it comes to footy. Some players from other clubs and other areas have not had the same passion/commitment to the game as Dirty and therefore have found his methods to be hard and have not lasted.

Most of the blokes that have had him as a coach would no doubt put him as a huge influence on their football. He is tough on his players and wants all his players to perform at their optimum. When they don't, he gives them a razz and doesn't care whether you are the superstar or just the plodder.

But this has been discussed previously. Who is gonna take over the reins is the real question?
