Alex Rance ? whether this is allowed is probably a group call, technically still on a list and talk of still playing next year and is on the available players list
Rance is a legit option. Is that a lock?

That's a wrap. Well done everyone. I'm slowly posting updated lists to the List Management thread.

We do need to decide if and when the next trading and waiver wire period opens. Should we wait for UF to reopen? If we want to pre-empt that someone just needs to act as a Waiver Wire Commissioner.

We can probably trade. But I’d wait for UF for Waiver wire. It’ll get too messy otherwise

Firstly I’d like to thank CursingFijian for a wonderful job running this draft.

As for FAs - Trading - Waiver wire.....I’d like to suggest that between now and the Marsh/JLT series starting that trading and FA pickups and delists are completely ad hoc and can be done as you please but must be posted in the list mgmt thread.

Once the preseason starts the waiver wire kicks in - which times with UF opening too. Thoughts ?

I’d vote against first in best dressed for free agents... Whoever is first to see to a preseason report will have an unfair advantage
Mate there's always risers and sliders in the preseason. Everyone has looked at basically every player available and if there was a free agent wanted badly enough everyone just had their chance with the PSD. Let people pick up the scraps if they want I'm sure these FA picks won't be make or break

Sorry, I misread this! Happy enough for free agents to be ad hoc, but once preseason games start the waiver in enforced! (Missed that part. I thought it was a free for all until round 1, apologies!)

Yeh my point is btwn now and the PS games it’s just fluff and with lists at 44 there really are only scraps available. I think it would be good to be able to take flyers on players thru training reports without losing the waiver order so can’t see the harm.

It may help with trading too. Trading 2 for 1 with a coach, then go to the FA list and add a spec pick to get to 44 on the list. May not happen but for the next month who cares.....

Disagree with people picking up with players willy nilly, last year i ran a thread before UF opened https://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/sbbfl-free-agency-thread.1210022/
and happy to do it again, think there should always be a waiver wire order with a 24 hour time limit or the first person that reads a positive news story on a player can just grab them. Prefer it to be a more tactical utility allowing people to bide there time hoping to get one of the limited gems instead of the guy with the quickest finger getting them all.
that’s just my thought though happy to go with the crowd.

That would be my preference too

I’m with you on this one. I think there should always be a waiver wire in place in the interest of fairness.

I don’t actually believe that it will make that much of a difference. What I mean by that is any waiver claim made now will be intuitive until preseason games actually begin, and we start to really get hyped by match performances. By that time UF will be up and running.

Between now and UF starting there are only 2 or 3 players likely to start a bidding war, and the rest will go through unchallenged. But in the interest of fairness the bidding process should still be applied.
