This is a knee-jerk reaction, Player. I think the Test series between NZ and GB should be interesting

They always are, and easily much better than series against Australia.

With Australia you know they are going to slaughter you in at least one test, unlike GB v the Kiwi's, were it is always tight.

I think you miss the point I was how shall we say trying to pluck an excuse from thin air.:D

all best of 3 would do would be to see us bashed in 3 game sinstead of one/

Don't worry too much guys...

It may have been a bit of a blow out here in Aust. but over there its always a different story...

The main thing is that it puts rugby league on the map, gets more people interested in the game and gives the English boys some experience in the *big* time and so forth!

It should not matter who Australia plays, even if they scores are a blow out..eventually things turn around.........

Example today....with the SoccerRoos with Tahiti......we struggled to beat them...;)

Australia are awesome. What would be disastrous for the game would be for the Aussies to forget about international footy.

Those who run the game in the UK, especially a lot of club chairmen, need to do a lot of soul searching.

The ESL needs restructuring in order to allow our top players more intensive games week in week out. If all of our games were as competitive as those that feature the top five, we'd make massive advances within a short timespan.

i dont know about you other aussies, but i am absolutely thrilled about this thrashing! i also love it when the poms come out every ashes series to get their asses thumped :D i cant believe i hear so many people on the radio wishing it was a close game, what more i dont like is aussies like david waite and rod marsh helping the english cause. i for one will always love thrashing the poms whatever the occasion, dont give them a sniff. give an inch, you take a mile. as steve waugh always says, when they are looking down, move in for the kill. it seems that a lot of people see GB being down atm, and are prepared to offer them food and shelter whilst they recover. i say lets keep giving it to them. the killer instinct is what makes australia so dominant in a lot of sports.

is there anyone else that would like the poms to even get close, or would you like to keep thumping them at every occasion (and put people like cunningham back in his place. :D:D:D)

Maybe David Waite feels some affinity to Pomerania, his parents are Poms. Perhaps he doesn't have the typical convict mentality.:p

you might be saying the ESL is improving, and that may be true, but arent you embarrassed about the number of australians playing in that competition?? ive been watching for the last ten minutes the london broncos v castleford, and the amount of aussies is just unbelievable. these are just some of the names ive heard so far.

Nigel Roy
Tony Martin
Jim Dymock
Mitch Healy
Richie Barnett
Russell Bawden
Wayne Batrim
Michael Gillett
Dennis Moran
Jason Hetherington
Wayne Evans
Mat Toshack
Michael Eagar
Dale Fritz (now theres a blast from the past)

this is just farcical!! and i also thought darryl halligan also went to play for the broncos, but havent seen him yet.

so the ESL improving doesnt mean that the GB side is getting better. perhaps its the deluge of aussie players propping up that comp.

me thinks your convict statement reeks of jealousy towards australians. you are always relying on the aussies to pull you out of your sporting doldrums.

What a disappointment and I thought that the poms were going to give us a close game for a change. Boy werent we all wrong. They have most probably taken a big step backwards with things. I sure hope that we can go back to a Best of the Rest team or something becuase this is crap or even a test between the Aussies and the Aussies Living In England teams.

The London Broncos still rely heavily on Antipodeans. Perhaps in a few years the number of Aussies and Kiwis will drop dramatically. For some reason, it's hard to tempt many northern based players to the capital. Brett will be able to tell you more about the state of junior development in the London area.

If you look at the clubs higher up, you'll see their are fewer - but still not few enough - overseas players.

Don't know where you got the Darryl Halligan idea from, isn't he commentating in NZ?

Anyway, it's good to know you breadstealers are watching some SL.;)

Richie Barnett

I'm sure Richie will be interested to know that he is now a fair dinkum Aussie in fact he's as Australian as that other Australian sporting legend Phar Lap.

Bozo's from Wollongong, so I'm not sure what you are talking about there BTige...

As for Crowded House, that's a bit contentious as Neil Finn is a kiwi but the other two are Aussies.

Shall we start a list of "English" stars as well?

Robin Smith
Allan Lamb

I think this type of business goes on all over the world to be honest....

Bob Fulton was born in Warrington, he moved to Oz at the age of 4.

I read recently that Keith Barnes was born in the UK, someone (An Aussie) said he was Welsh.

Lote Tuqiri

Harold 'Jersey' Flegg was born in Bolton in 1878.
