But thats too far away. I wanted to go out and celebrate an early Oktoberfest this friday. Any good beer drinking places people can recommend? Was thinking the Belgian Beer Garden, but any other suggestions people gave?

Mate, in Melbourne try the Hoffbrauhaus in market lane - essentially a restaurant, but steins all year round.

In Sydney you can't go past the Lowenbrau Keller in the rocks - the place goes off - especially upstairs in the uber bar - again, steins all year round.

Apparently Oktoberfest in Hahndorf runs all month

With a big celebration on Wed October 18th.

Convincing the boys to go up there tonight! Just a bitch to get there and back.

Des!! Get 6/7 people into Des's and you'll each be paying less than $10 each to get to Hahdorf.

I'm getting sick of town and I think I need a bit of a break from it and Oktoberfest only comes round once a year so I think me and the boys might head up there tonight!

I'd love to take part in Oktoberfest as I've just turned 18, but I might have to save it up till next year when there's no Year 12 to deal with.

Ended up at the Belgian, and had me plenty of Stella's. Got (politely) kicked out at 1am as they were shutting the place down. So went to Crown and downed a few more beers there.

Might give Hoffbrauhaus a shot this week.
