How many do you still have? Do you still use them?

I'm not a huge Apple fan these days(am typing off a Mac, but these are all from a few years back), but the old Apple designs before they became all glass were pretty cool. See iMacquarium.

I recently rediscovered my old iPod Touch from when I was 15, as well as the iPod Classic I had when I was in my early high school years and lost sight of for three or four years. Still yet to find the old Nano from grade 5, but not for lack of trying! Along with that, my dad took my mum's iPad 1 when she upgraded, but he never used it so I claimed it off him.

These things are pretty useless on their own with smart phones, but they can actually be pretty useful, I've found. The Classic sits in my car to be used with the AUX and the Touch is connected to my old hifi. Can also be used as back up HD's which is useful.

I have a gold iPod mini which is pretty much useless due to it's 10 minute battery life on full charge. I also laugh that this was considered 'mini' considering how ****ing bulky it is. Besides that I have 2 iPod nano's (1st gen and 4th gen) and now I just use the latest nano.

I thought this thread would be about finding your old iPod you had five years ago and discussing the kind of crappy music you had on there!

................. because that happened to me the other day.

No need to be ashamed mate. Crazy Frog was a classic back then and it is still a classic now. :thumbsu:

Is that worse than discovering your taste in music is more or less identical to what it was in High School?

The music on the old classic was pretty much fresh off what I was pumping the day that I lost it. All American Rejects, Calvin Harris, that album that Kanye West actually sang in, mediocre Foo Fighters.

have a 3rd gen nano (which has a broken screen, but i can still use it as a shuffle), and currently have a 160gb classic. Will probably buy an alternative music player when the classic dies though, although it is still going strong.

I remember being really amazed by the iPod in the 2001/02 summer, there was nothing I wanted more, but they were ridiculously expensive back then. Ended up getting one in 2005. Switched to iPhone 3 about 4 years later in 2009, which I still use (I've only had 2 phones in the last decade, I'm not the type that trades up regularly, plus mainly use for call/text/music/maps/weather).

I know people rag on Apple, but personally I tend to boycott Korean products (Chaebol management practices and need for reform), so don't really consider phones like Samsung.

I subscribe to MOG music streaming and now have 14 odd million songs available to me through my phone. Gave my old iPod to a young son of a friend of mine in the hopes of turning him, to his father's horror, into a Dead Head. Partially succeeding too, four year olds singing Grateful Dead tunes is actually pretty cute.
