It's happened and as supporters there isn't really much we can do but support him but not condone the action, what kind of supporters are we if we desert him for all he has done for this club.
I was thinking that this incident and the lead up to what happened against Staker as been brewing inside Barry Hall for a good couple of years i reckon, high swinging arms against him, head chops and general niggling by defenders which go generally unnoticed by the umpire and a mental snap of frustration is what imo contributed to the punch.
One postive outlook in all of this is yes he will be suspended for a long time but it's only round 4, depending on ofcourse on the offical suspension length and his wrist injury he will be back in around round 12 or 13 i think it would be a good thing that he isn't available for the Eagles game in round 11.
Had Barry had the mental fade in say round 16 onwards well that would of been disastrous for the club it could of sent our finals campaign in disaray.
