I'm more a fan of Erica ButlerI seen the name Ian Butler mentioned. Is he related to Mitch Butler? I have heard that Mitch will be relocating to the region. He would be a handy pick up for any club in the region.

at this stage, unchanged RS.
I can confirm that too RS. Had a conversation with a Yack player on the weekend and he said the same. Who are the obvious candidates?Hey MTAG, I hear your info on Hillary doing Yack again may be incorrect. Was told this weekend that he has already informed them that he will definitely not be coaching them in 2008.

F**k Mitta, who wants to play for those inbreds, they should challenge themselves and turn around a club eg. Tallangatta, Wodonga Saints etc. Anyone can play for perennial premiership contender (look at all the club sl*ts who have played for Osborne of the years) and ride their coat tails to a flag, but the challenge of turning a club around and creating success is far more satisfying. But i forgot Mitta don't play their playersso they'll have to look elsewhere any way

Are you suggesting that a few "downhill skiiers" might jump on board the Mitta and Osborne bandwagons just so they can win a flag ??? Be interesting to see who gets on in the next few weeks before clearances close.
Nic Conway & Kerry Bahr spring to mind.
Slater to coach Mitta with his previous connections to the club seems logical and what about Hilton to Tallangatta he does play cricket for the hoppers and with his knee injuries would not have too many years left at O&M level.
OK! i wasn't completely honest with you all! but Ross' decision was only made Public last Thursday (so i heard yesterday)
apparently Ross has told the Roos he won't go on next year. reasons include age, family, and his network for recruiting has been stretched to its limits. will more than likely be on Selection etc if new Coach wants (who wouldn't have him? only lives 5 minutes out of Yack)
there are rumours that Yack have spoken to someone but at this stage thats all. Believe me, whoever takes the job on will be stepping into a great position. good young blokes coming through, some good "old" heads out there and a very proactive committee. would need to bring a few key players with him to compliment the top 6 or 8 they already have (Purcell, Fraser, Clayton, Powell, Dale, Hillary, Hay, Dowling, Rose etc)
what is Corey Lambert up to next year? he could be a possible candidate for a TDFL position. or would he still like to get back into O and M?
Who are the front runners for the yack job at this stage?
I didn't think the Yack job was vacant Wilfred, isn't Hillary going around again?
do you mean Mark "Bomber" Hilton from North Albury?
see the quotes from previous pages gents, Yack job is wide open!
as stated, whoever takes on this job will be stepping into a great couple of season s ahead of them. home grown talent, experience and a great club.no front runners at this stage, apparently they are just putting the feelers out to see who wants to Coach.
any suggestions?
can anyone answer my question on Corey Lambert
Would Jarrod Hillary step up and have a good at the coaching gig? He did a good job as Marc Duryea's AC at Holbrook and would surely have coaching aspirations himself.
I have heard on the grapevine that Lambert is very interested in a district league coaching job, in fact apparently had his eye on the Thurgoona job however was informed that it's not available and won't be for some time. Only a rumour though.
I would think Jaz would make an excellent coach. Well respected both on and off the field and would no doubt be able to draw players. Whether he stays at Yack again even as a player would be the big question.
Would club stalwart Scott Fraser be suited to the role?Told me 2 weeks ago that he can't even commit to play for a club next year, as there is a big possibility that he will be travelling, so I can't see him taking on the coach's job. But agree, he would be a good coach. Corey Lambert is fairly confident he will get a senior O&M gig, so hasn't really considered coaching district league yet.
The latest one going around is that Dale "Rat" Smith has been approached for the job at Rutherglen. Is there any truth in this?
FAT RAT SMITH.Deffinately be non playing. Would have thought his days are over?? More of a family man these days.
Clubs waste there time & money with non playing coaches
