So what's the state of play at the moment for coaching positions being available ? Here's a summary of this thread:
Kiewa: Bone staying or handover to Richo.
Thurgoona: Very unlikely to be available.
Mitta: Probably avail front runners Conway & Slater.
Barny: The silence is deafening, maybe Fairall or Hargreaves to take over.
Chiltern: Knight will probably stay.
Dederang: Dicketts probably again.
Yack: Available.
Beechworth: Will be advertised per constitution but Roma probably again.
Saints: Have heard nothing but would think Butters again.
Tallangatta: Probably available but can they get someone else after last years marathon.
Rutherglen: Probably available names mention L Seymour, Smith.

AP, who is the Smith you mention for Rutherglen?? also, i know Buttsy is a great bloke and all, but would the Saints be best to seek a big name player that can draw players. no offence to Kade but he has probably exhausted all his connections hasn't he? they did not pick up anyone that has made a huge difference this year.
and lastly, Fairall, are you joking!!! seriously, that is you having a giggle to yourself isn't it? Big Al, correct me if i'm wrong, but the bloke could not coach a fly to shit could he? not a bad bloke though all the same.

Would club stalwart Scott Fraser be suited to the role?

i wouldn't think so! Scooter came back to Yack as Assistant to Norm Ritchie in 2003 and didn't enjoy the Coaching side that much apparently. he is probably too busy organising the footy trip anyway, or eating pies. he will also become a father in the off season so i would say he will just plod around again.(might give him an excuse not to do pre-season tho)

my apologies on the Rat Smith question, i should have read the last page!

If Hillary is not going to do the job next year then the club would be crazy not to be sniffing around at the moment. Have you heard any info of who they have in mind? Who do you think will get the Job given that you are the gospel from yack?

Why wouldn't Fairall be able to coach a fly to shit MTAG? Are you two buddies and your just poking sh1t in the public arena?
Ive heard him speak to a playing group and he seems to have a good understanding of the game and in my belief would be quite suited to a coaching position.
Playing coaches with six to seven years of good footy left are a rare commodity, he'd have a few contacts around the traps and the fact that he holds down a key position, I would think that would put him high on the list of a few clubs around town.

Agree KITM his post must be in jest.Is a school teacher;so that gives him the ability to be both organised and have good communication skills. Also agree he would be a very good player for anyone that he chose to coach. He is a smart footballer so he could quite easily do it and more importantly do it well.

What's the go with old man Holland out there at Barny switch? Will he continue to coach or will he hand over the mantle?

AD, I see you've included a family portrait. Very touching!
Is that you in the middle of the back row? or are they prospective coach's for some of the TDFL teams?

i am far from being the gospel of Yack gents, probably the only one that can use a computer though? just joking.
the club is sniffing around for coaches like a beagle at Bali airport. the Committee have put in a lot of hard work and with the grounding that Ross Hillary has done over the last 2 years, and the current player list, they want to get a great coach not just a good coach.
on the Fairall comment, yeah i know Fezz, just wanted to stir the pot a little and see what other Big Footy TDFL followers thought. question is whether he wants to seek a coaching career or not? would he look at Holbrook in a couple of years when Manny gets sick of it?
and for christ's sake! it's Hollard! not Holland.

Position has been re-offered to him AD.Dont think he has given it a great deal of thought.Has a young family and work commitments so i would imagine he would way it all up at the end of the season.:thumbsu:

The word is that Simon Bone is moving on AP. He has had employment issues and i can confirm he is applying for jobs up north. Is Richo coaching material?

I know Scotty is partial to the odd pie, hotdog, bigmac, cheesecake or chicken wing but he is certainly a popular human being who may be able to attract some players to Yack. I will give you the tip. If he is about to have a little bambino he will be giving up footy trips too!

Rowger, i have just been snooping on the Hume league thread and notice that Brent Lillis has been linked to the Spiders at Howlong with Moose??
judging by your previous threads it seems you have a soft spot for the raider boys in some way, what do you know about the Gecko heading to the Hume League?

Have not heard that one MTAG.

That is a bit of a porky pie Rowger. You quoted Run Straight who mentioned the Howlong/Lillis/Moose rumour on the hume league thread.
So you are either blind or lying that you have not heard the rumour.;)

Oh my god MTAG I feel such a fool! You'd think having played with him in a premiership I would know that! Sorry Dutchy!

if that was an apology AD, i accept it!

question to all, would Clint Eckhardt make a good Coach?? i dont know him real well, seems like a great bloke. apparently he is Principal up at Mitta. which means he does a bit of travelling which would make playing at Jindera (rumouor) a bit difficult. i only ask as i was thinking of mentioning his name to the Yack folk to talk to about coaching. any info would be much appreciated.

You'd think he'd be shot if he didn't play at mitta wouldn't u?

I heard his name linked to yack a couple of years back, he'd be a great coach i reckon.

Eckhardt was really only linked to Yack 'cos of Sheepy's connections. i dont think he thought he was ready at the time to Coach so it wasn't pursued.

if Anthony Ross doesn't Coach the Spidy's next year, would he Coach elsewhere? or just play would you think.?

The good word is he will just play at the Spiders MTAG. They reckon are going to leave Howlong after this season.

Dunno about Lillis but Moose is more likely to be playing coach of one of the battling clubs in the TDFL and wont be going back to Howlong.:)
