Mike seems to have never recovered from the Jackson interview, before that his interviews seemed to be more in depth but then again his interview skills were always soft or light rather than hard hitting.

I think Sheahan was never a particularly great interview but because the format was fresh and there were generally interesting interviewees the show had enough strengths to be seen positively by most.

But the show has gone on for at least a couple years too long and the weaknesses that were always there have come to the fore and from what I saw of it last year, Mike is just going through the motions. Instead of being an 'event' show that was must-see TV weekly it's now just rote and by-the-numbers that many don't bother with now.

Which is a crying shame because it's not like there's a shortage of interesting subjects out there.

Yeah, there have been some really good interviews. Alan Stoneham's was an eye opener.

Hey - This is the Open Mike thread - It's a disgrace this thread is hijacked by some who should know better -

It's a disgrace that Mike didn't grill lloyd more & put him on the spot for his gross acts of bully-boy thuggery.

But as others in here have rightly noted.....Mike has lost the plot entirely these days.

Maybe he remembered Lloyds early days ( back in the day when we shafted hawthorn in getting him) where he was routinely bashed from pillar to post.
We got the champion, you got Brad Lloyd , you must move on.

You sure do bandy the word 'champion' about rather loosely.....Now Hudson, Lockett, Coleman & Dunstall were CHAMPIONS of the game.....Lloydy was just a very good ordinary player by comparison.

Get some historical perspective FFS.

I have never come across a poster on BF who hijacks threads like you - Give it a break.

I see you blokes had your fun with it in your own forum anyways......Lighten up, the subject of Lloyd's interview was germane & we simply took it from there....As they say in the classics....It takes 2 to tango.

Watched my first OM ep of the year with tonight’s Nathan Brown ep and found it pretty interesting.

Brown came across fairly impressively, someone who’s matured over the years and had the right balance between arrogance and false modesty on his playing career.

But I reckon the interview was entertaining despite Sheahan, not because of him. Displayed the usual slipshod style like somehow not even mentions all the finals campaigns Nathan was involved in his early Bulldogs years and how frustrating they were; would’ve been interested in Nathan’s views as to why that playing group couldn’t take that final step.

And, you guessed it, Sheahan just loved talking about the money situation of Brown’s Bulldogs contract; you could see Sheahan sit bolt upright when he managed to get how much money Brown was being paid.

yeah mike got a lot more interested in the story about how much his dogs offer was and why he left for richmond. browny was in such great form before he snapped his leg and it seems his wife has helped him settle down. mike also went on about working for sportsbet

Fair play to Mike Sheahan for asking Nathan Brown how he justifies working as a blanket advertiser for a gambling company. Brown is a shill.
It's a bit rich of Shit Mike to be questioning people's morals & integrity in terms of what they do for a living.

This is the same guy who as Chief Football Writer for the Herald Sun quite brazenly ignored the concept of being impartial and independent as a journalist and became the AFL's chief lackey in driving the knife into Fitzroy from 1993-1996 and then tried to do the same to Hawthorn from 1996-1997.

Rather than serving the game and the public, Sheahan pushed the AFL agenda and wrote the stories they wanted him to write in return for a constant stream of insider information - just like we've seen with Caroline Wilson at The Age over the past 10 years.

Pure propaganda designed to sway public opinion and destabilise the efforts of REAL FOOTBALL PEOPLE doing everything they can to keep their clubs going.

He is a self-serving hypocritical c**ksucker.

I'm actually amazed that no Lions fan has ever accosted him in the street and king hit him for the active part he played in Fitzroy's demise.

Wasn’t a great response from Nathan either. Although I’m not real sure what he was supposed to say...

No, but it's probably the type of thing he should have a better answer for considering he's a public face for gambling in a nation with the world's highest per capita gambling losses.

Watched the Nathan Brown interview last night.

Could he have broken a world record for saying 'my talent'?

Came across just as you would expect. An arrogant w***er
