Poor Stevens... 95% of the time will be about his ex missus and her deeds
No it won't. Mike is better than that. The bloke was a damn good footballer over many years, who captained our team to finals when the whole place blew apart.

Yes they'll talk about it, the impact it had on him and the club, but it won't be all they talk about.

What Carey did was atrocious and I know that's an understatement. I like how he speaks inregards to football issues but I usually remember what he did while he speaks. Why he would keep ****ing her is beyond me. Many of his team mates told him to stop.

I do understand Carey not getting in touch with Stevens though, I mean what does he say...."sorry for rooting your Mrs". And Carey would know he'd be told to **** off. It left a stain on Norths greatest era.

Yeah you're more than likely right. Will probably only spend 10 to 15 minutes on it tops because Mike is a great bloke that never just focusses on the negatives.
You just blew up my sarcasm detector.

I don't think Stevo would have agreed to the interview, nor stuck around for it, if all Mike wanted to talk about was the incident and the fallout.

He was a consistently excellent footballer who played almost 300 games and won flags, AAs, B&Fs, TOTC awards.

The big difference though being that Carey actually did an assistant coach apprenticeship.

Yes, but that wasn't the only thing he did an apprenticeship in ...

Not denying any of that and I never said it'll be the only thing he talks about. There's also the window pane incident that almost killed him which has nothing to do with football. It really doesn't take very long to say "So Stevo you were consistently an excellent footballer who played almost 300 games and won flags, AAs, B&Fs, TOTC awards. What was that like?".

I hope you're right but I'll be shocked if he doesn't spend at least 10 minutes on the Carey/Kelli incident and the fallout because regardless of how good any footballer he has on was, if there's a tragedy/scandal/embarrassing episode in there that's what he tends to focus on. The football seems secondary.

I reckon it will be 2 parts, before and after the break; one part about the incident, the other part about his footy.

That's really the essence of the show, the onfield playing career/stats take a back seat to aspects of the player's off field experiences which are mostly undisclosed from their point(s) of view. Stevens' football credentials can be cited from many sources, but I think a few here are taking exception to the fact he's rarely been acknowledged for his playing career, which was nothing short of outstanding and unsung compared to many other guests on the show.

Carey is in a weird position now is he not.

A major partner in his work is filming an episode that will expose him...He deserves everything he gets imo (in form of hate) but its all abit weird for me.

Didn't think it was worth the hype.
Basically said nothing.

Carey remains humorously egocentric. He was asked on Talking Footy whether he would apologise, he replied he wouldn't because he'd moved on, and Darcy prodded him with the obvious explanation that the apology would be for Anthony Stevens . . .

Top post.

The bloke was a gun, a real quiet achiever.
