Every coach has the right to defend their players, no doubt about it. I just think it's ironic and a bit hypocritical. I distinctly remember his lot booing Nick Riewoldt when he gave his speech at the grand final parade in 2010. Game hadn't even started.

Collingwood don’t look like a frightening opposition right now. If we keep building on what we are doing now and get some players back, I think that we would do decently against them.
