I went to your game last Friday against the Pies, with two Collingwood supporters. I wouldnt dispair, your mob showed a fair bit especially in the first half.

Watching Tambling live, I have alot more respect for the kid. He has increadible pace over his first 10m's and has a vicious side step. Thought he really found his Niche, opperating as a leading HFF in that game. Was easily BOG in the first half. Was impressed.

Whilst watching the game i kept noticing one player, absolutely tearing C'wood a new one out of defence. I couldnt put my finger on who he was. But I had his number, and realised who it was when i went home and looked him up. It was Chris Newman. Absolutely killed the Pies with tough play in the defensive half, his decision making, kicking and general run from the backline was a real highlight of the night for me. He looked like a better version of Josh Gibson from the Kangaroo's.

Just thought id provide a few positives from a neutral supporter during a tough time :thumbsu:

Thanks for that. Best game I've seen from Tambling and I also though Newy was great. Shame about the rest of our senior players!

Newman has always been destined to be a great player, last years broken leg was a bit scary but it looks like (knock on wood) it won't hold him back ala Brown.

Cheers Pykie. It's refreshing to have an opposition supporter come on the tiger board with some positive comments.

We've been hammered in the media this week and deservedly so. I reckon we'll give the dogs a shake.

But a pathetic 2nd half.

There are positives to take out of the game no doubt, but losing a 2nd half to an undermanned Collingwood by near on 50 points? I can't help but despair; until this Friday night anyway.

Thanks for the input anyway, certainly good to know there are some non-Richmond believers out there...

cheers pal, I know it's little consolation but we've played alot bloody worse let me tell you....Even MM was on radio this mornign anf for a first defended the tiges bad press and suggested we werent a bad side...His team had the momentum that they were able to maintain for 45min....A fit simmonds and in touch simmo will make an immediate diff...drop patto and have polak work with him in ruck

Thanks for the post. :thumbsu:

It's nice to see Chris Newman getting recognition, imo he is one of our best players. Good to see a player come back and not get reinjured for once!
