"100 bucks off if u change from optus, free x box, free sony discman as well as a digital camera. I'd call that incentives!"

LOL dont you know NOTHING EVER COMES FOR FREE??

It all sounds good, but if you work the figures out, YOU still end up PAYING FOR IT, and then you will see you will have a TELSTRA simlock on your phone, and you will be stuck

Optus are great! I have had 1cent credit for a week now and last night it let me call my friend for two hours for free :o :D

yea u got ur phone for free, but u were on a contract, prob $30 a month meaning you are paying for the phone little bits by month :) Prob total cost over 2 yrs is i donno, was around $600 or so?

No i wasn't on a contract with the company that gave it to me

btw everyone i think word of mouth is the best way to find out about things in the consumer world however it is not the Optus network service that i am complaining about its the actual politics they put you through when wanting to use their service. Apparently Telstra arent half as bad...we will soon see! No wonder everyone is on pre-paid you gotta probably be a Kerry Packer to be allowed a real phone!

I've been with Telstra for a few years now and never had any major issues.

Telstra shops are currently selling the Siemens S45 with a full handsfree car kit for $289 outright, which is the bargain of the year IMO.

Optus sent an annoying pushy door-to-door marketer around my block, so I won't be signing up with them ever.

HA HA sent one to our place too, my housemate kept saying she wasn't interested & he said how did she know if she wouldn't open the door & listen to what he was offering, eventually housemate gets really angry calls her dog & opens the door just enough so his head could fit through, never seen anyone run so fast in my life. :D

I used to be with Telstra but i switched to Optus because their freetime was better. The reception I get with Optus at times is shocking, I spend ages trying to get through to people and other times find out someone tried to call me and it said my phone was off when it wasnt. I was thinking about going back to Telstra, but now there freetimes gone, looks like I'll have to put up with Optus

I had my phone stolen with $21.95 credit on it. (Optus) Rang them up, the guy said it'd cost $25 to get a new sim card sent out, then saw I had $21.95 and went - yeah, that's cool, we'll send it. Only $3.05, but I reckon that was pretty neat.
