Well it`s hotting up in the equines again.
Orr Stakes.
Backing Fields of Omagh in this 9/2 in the paper.
At 6yo & first up Northerly won`t be able to control the pace in this, saying that he is a freak & nothing suprises.
This will be a lot tougher for the 3yo brigade, Innovation girl won`t get it as easy as last week on a track that had a huge leader bias, & Yell will find out that getting the sit & bumping a 6yo oldtimer out of the way for a run a lot harder than in a 3yo event. Last two Caulfield meetings the first 3 at the 400 have won 5/8 races but, FoO wiil get the sit & come over the top.

Just my view & very open to other assesments of the race

We have spoken previously on these boards about Northerly (The Best Ive ever seen)....

First Up, 1400m(Excels 1600+, and hes getting on in age), I wont be backing him today although nothing would surprise me with this bloke! He is vulnerable when hes first produced and usually takes a couple of runs under his belt to show his best, all I can say is that he wont be far away! (Will be under the odds though)

Innovation Girl, Yell and Fields of Omagh could win the race, however race fitness will be the key and I reckon if you can get 15/10 Innovation Girl, Take it, no substitute for racing fitness!!

It might be a good race to sit back and appreciate without having a wager and just hope the old bloke grinds his ass off as usual and mows them down in the shadows.......

An ominous return to racing from the Old Champ yesterday!

Length and a half (4th) behind Yell!

Was charging home at the end!!!

May still be vulnerable 2nd up.......... there would want to be something pretty special to beat him once he hits the mile!

Decided against a bet in the Orr........... glad I didnt, Yell looks to be a quality horse as is F.O.O.........

He's not that old! He is only 6 but is relatively inexperienced for a 6 y.o.

It was a great return though, over the unsuitable 1400m and first up, but he was motoring home at the end. It's all systems go for the Australian Cup.
