LOL! What a passionate, heartfelt spray from Malcolm Blight on Ten's coverage of the Hawks vs St Kilda match. His half-time barrage on Mike Sheahan, the whole St Kilda board was measured and deserved.

Big thumbs up to ya! :thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

haha what happeend exactly??

love blighty

He was very indignant at the suggestion he lacked commitment. He said they could say anything at all about him, that he couldn't coach, that he said the wrong thing etc., but not to question his commitment.

He labelled St. Kilda a "very bad club" (at the time) and mentioned that that they had only won two games the previous year, and he had to contend with a lot of egos while he was there. He said that he spent an awful lot of time working on gameplans and strategies with Jonas and Hinkley, and in response to the claim that he was not good with young players, he pointed to his previous record with Adelaide and Geelong, both very young teams that he took to GF's.

He seemed very upset that it had even been bought up again, raising his voice on several occasions. It seems that the wounds have not fully healed. If he is so upset now, I hate to think how he must have felt when it happened. He has done well to maintain a dignified silence over the years. All in all, an awesome spray. Top work Blighty.:thumbsu:

Malcom Blight = Respect.

Alot of people bag him, but I really rate the guy.

He tends to babble on during commentary, but he knows what he is talking about and always provides fascinating insight.

It helps that Dane Swan is his mancrush, too :D

Darcy was spot on too when he said that had Blight stayed Saints would have won at least one premiership, maybe even 2. Dead right, huge cluster on their part. Saints probably most underperformed team of the last 10 years after Freo, given their potential. Grant Thomas couldn't run a rat up a drain pie let alone run a footy team.

Shehan looks like an utter tool, because I read the article this morning and it was his usual lazy effort to stir up trouble where none existed. It allowed Butress to attack Blight but failed to point out Blights record and what a mess the Saints where and still are. Their facilities are an abortion, their team has no real long term prospects and the same board that has delivered squat for last 7 years is still in charge. A nothing piece that has people thinking, "what a dickheab".

Showing some of it now on the fifth quarter. Good work blighty. A lot of built up anger in there though. He has come out on top. Just wait for some hack journo to try and have another go at him in the next couple of days

Another thing I like about him:- He's nearly always positive. He doesn't hate "everythink" like Michael Voss, doesn't try to turn 5 words into 50 like Tim Lane nor does he try to over-shout his call like Quartermaine.

His quips are dry, his off-the-ball vision is great (well, I guess it would be being an ex-coach :) ) and he generally calls the positive points of players from both teams during the call. Rarely takes sides, hates the umpires and loves a Daisy Thomas hanger!

My commentary dream team: Commetti, Bucks, Blight and Christian (Michael Christian can really call a goal!)

He said "wank" on tv...hehe :p
thats a wank and bull.

But still well done Malcolm, everything you said was 100% correct, if Thomas could take st.kilda to finals you would of taken them to multiple preimerships
