We missed a lot of opportunities in the entire 2nd half. I am more worried about our players cramping. The Port players didn't seem to be cramping.

That would probably be because they virtually stopped playing at three quarter time.

Well they shut down our more skillful players while we couldn't shut down theirs. Simply, we were unaccountable. Our skills were terrible at times tonight but it is only the 2nd game of the season.

I think the kicking was just one of those freak things in the last quarter. Matera would have kicked that goal 99 out of 100 times. Judd and Cox are also pretty good set shots so you would back them in 95% of the time. It just all came together at the same point in the same game.

Good to have a reality check. I still don't think we are top 4 material quite yet. Need to work on some skills and as Jod said, we need to be more accountable, hey Brauny?

Top 4? What about top 8?? We have been extremely disappointing in the first two rounds this season despite getting one win.
We usually win at home, be it the worst side in the comp or the best and although Port are good travellers and have a good record against us, you expect to win when they have the likes of Wakelin, Primus, James, Francou and Pickett out of the lineup. We never got going....the quicker Gardy can get fit the better even though I thought Cox dueled pretty hard all night.
Despite our rucks and midfield shading yours last night, I still rate you as having a better midfield then Port. Your problem remains the same as last year in the first two rounds. Other then ruck you don't have a decent KPP. You have fantastic small forwards - and that will win you quite a few matches, but you won't go top 4 till you have a couple of really good talls stand up along your spine. A half decent spine with your midfield would have me and the supporters of pretty much every other club dreading matches against the Eagles - until then you remain vunerable if your midfield is shut down.
