Amongst them:

- 8 Skilled Stadium home games, 3 Telstra Dome home games

- The Three Telstra Dome games to be against powerhouse clubs (mentioned were Collngwood, Essendon, Richmond and St. Kilda)

- Telstra Dome home games to be on Friday or Saturday nights

- No Mothers Day game

- No Skilled Stadium games until Round 6

- A Victorian club as opponent for the first home game, hopefully in Round 6

For Geelong people, yes. Not for Melbournites though.

What is a bad idea, is Sunday games at Skilled. Makes it near on impossible for me to go.

After only 31,000 showed up last time. Better off playing Carlton or Hawthorn. I bet Carlton don't have to make the trip to Geelong...

That isn't going to help membership numbers too much. I gather they want to tip the draw in our favour on the run home and get a couple of the interstate games over with early on?

- Telstra Dome home games to be on Friday or Saturday nights

No doubt to try and gain some fta coverage.

I dont think have we too much to worry about Fri nights.Pie and Bombers have a duelopoly on it.
I like Sat nights at the Dome.If we did get some on Fri nights it would not be to my prefence it makes it very difficult for me to organise and get to the game, compared to the ease of TV . Still as you say the Melcats might find it up their street so to speak so it would be interesting what the attendance was.

As I understand it they have requested 5 Sat Aft at KP and 3 Sun Aft. (against interstate teams) but the ratio seems wrong. We tend to play more like 4 or 5 interstate teams and 3 or 4 vic team

How disgusting that Brian Cook didn't consult with you before putting the requests forward so that Sunday games in Geelong could be avoided. :p

I agree with the no Mother's Day game. I'd be good to get a have a break from it.

Could say the same about the Geelong based members who constantly whinge about Friday night games in Melbourne.

Sunday games in Geelong aren't ideal for Melbourne based members.

And they wonder why Melbourne based membership figures are struggling.

The no game until Rd6 is because of the building of the new grandstand.

What's so bad about the mothers day game? I loved that evening timeslot.

Friday Night Games at the MCG would have to be the best possible game. I'm getting so frustrated that we only play ONE game there this year. It's the best and most enjoyable ground by far.

I hate games in Geelong because I can rarely go, especially on Sundays.

Telstra dome games on a Sunday are painful, much prefer Friday nights or Saturday afternoons.

Do they really expect 8 Skilled Stadium games in 17 weeks?

Seems very similar to last years request.

I too would love some more games at the G.
It is a spiritual experience going to a game at the home of footy!

Not really.

You will find that most Melbourne based Geelong supporters will attend, plus the usual throng of Geelong based Geelong fans that make the trek up to any match of any timeslot in Melbourne.

Don’t forget about the Geelong based supporters who work in Melbourne, and would be knocking off around about 5.30/6. They could easily venture over to the MCG or Telstra Dome.

As well, parents will bring their children out to matches on Friday night because there is no school or work the following morning; same with Saturday nights.

All in all, I don’t mind Friday night matches.

The same could be said for Sunday afternoon matches in Melbourne. Whenever and wherever we play, there will always be trouble for supporters. That's just the dilemma we face with being a Geelong team and having large supporter bases an hour away from each other.

Inevitably, we have a large contingent of Melbourne-based supporters whose needs need to be met, but like I said, not everyone can be pleased.

It’s evident that Geelong has tried to accommodate their Melbourne based fans with big home matches at the Telstra Dome. Remember however, the home is Geelong, and that’s obviously where a majority of the football should be played.

Not sure how valid that is, and I'm a Melbourne based member. Melbourne members have all morning to get to Geelong where as Geelong based supporters don't have all that long to get to Melbourne from work before the game starts.

Why is that? What's the difference if they are played on a Saturday or Sunday, it's the same distance?

There's a lot,lot more traffic on the Princess highway at 5pm on a sunday. All the surf dudes are heading back to Melbourne.

Isnt that the point? That the Geelong supporters who work in Geelong that knock off at that time (5:30-6pm) will struggle to get to the game in time. I cant imagine too many ppl would enjoy going straight from work to the game or having to rush home to pick up the family, change, tea etc.

I also read in the addy that we were applying to have all away games played saturday nights.

If traffic is used as the reason for not playing games, then no games would be played anywhere.

Games start at 7.40, which is ample time to get from work to the football. It sure is more convenient already being in Melbourne than having to travel up and back again.

Who really cares when and where we play..... if it's at dome, kp, mcg in the night, day, evening. I live in Melbourne, and i go down to Geelong everytime we play there, yeh sure its a bit of hassle but its much better than watching us on tv.

If you guys are keen to go, then don't complain about where it is or what time it is, just get ur s*** together and get to the game. Next year looks to be a good year, and the last thing the club needs is supporters not getting to the game for ****-weak excuses.

Besides interstate games, i havent missed a game this year (incl. wizcup) and i can tell you guys now, it will take a lot for me to miss a game for the rest of the year and in the next few years. The years ahead look very promising, and i dont want to miss any of it.

No doubt everybody here would go to every single game if possible. Good on you for not missing a game, but some others have things that take priority over football... shocking isn't it.

Each and every supporter who enjoys going to the footy will go to the games they can make, don't think that those who can't make certain games have ****-weak excuses.

For example, I live in Melbourne but can't attend Sunday's game against the dogs because I have a SAC. Of course I wish the two activities didn't conflict, but they do and I have to make the best decision.

It matters to many people when and what time the games are being played; work, school and other commitments can be more important than going to see your team play.

No one wants to miss the games, don't bitch that people haven't got their **** together.
