was really pleased with how our backline stood up last night, and even more pleased we played thursfield, polak and shulz as our keys. one of my grudges about wallace last year was he continued having bowden in defence, playing unaccountable football, and just racking up kicks. we must move on and stick to playing our young blokes in these rolls for us to go forward. was really happy with jay shulz down back, didnt get a lot of it, but he disposal was spot on and gave of some clever tight in and under handball which broke open packs and allowed us to run the line out of defence.

A reminder that Wallace can be a great tactician. He has proven time and time again that he has the capacity to think outside the square. If ever there was a time to come out with all his tactical guns firing, it's now.

kicking out was hopeless, with many poorly directed kicks going straight to the blues. moore was given a bit of a shlacking by edwards, he was far too loose. they need bowden taking the kick ins as he is more accurate.

Why be negative mate? We won, for once we actually won, be happy.
One thing i've always wondered though is why we don't set up a zone when the opposition kick out. Last night it didn't seem to matter much, and carlton often didn't zone either, but in other matches i just wonder why we don't do it. Any ideas?

I still love Bowden somewhere in defense. His quality of disposal is probably the best we have.

Anyone notice how man different people took the kick in. If i remember correctly bowden, newman, moore, petts and I think deledio even came down to have a kick.
