G'day, nice to meet you all. Just wondering if anyone else out there fears the same as me? In the last twelve months or so we've had numerous very promising young players including Jones, Bate, Bartram, Pettered, (already showing a lot) Dunn & Frawley (these last two i feel will start to improve very soon), make their debut for our club and i'm just worried that we will spend time and money developing these players, (which with the adddition to the likes of Brock, Davey, Green, Bell etc, could form the basis of a very exciting team), only for them to be poached from other clubs or decide they want out due to bigger offers. i'm not so upt to date on the salary cap restrictions or what players get paid but if these players turn out to be as good as they look, will we be able to afford them all?

Am i being paranoid?

yes.

that can be part of footy though, i mean would you blame any of them for wanting to go to a another club if they didnt truly love the demons or want to see us through the good and bad times.

i know i know, dumb question, of course you would.

Not many players turn there back on a successful side, you have to hope they will all want to play for each other and the club.

In saying that you cant have that attitude that you are scared they are going to go to other clubs. Lets hope they are good enough to attract attention first.

or think pearce from port or carrazo from carlton.

plenty of other teams with players to lose, as dutchy has said.

Where is CJ. He can run, has pace, kick long and has good skills and figures in Sandy's best players most weeks.

I'd rather see him play than hospital ward, wardy is good but we have to make decisions on age as well as skill and experience.

And Carrol? Must be some question marks over his future... a straight swap for Judd.:D:o:(

Dunn? he looks anorexia?

I know he played some good games last year but now looks like a pocket player !
Dunn can play midfield and he is a very good leading forward, unline miller.

The only reason Dunn, not to mention half of the rest of the blokes in our team, look anorexic is because of that f****ng new fitness coach (what's is name?):thumbsd:. They dead set looked like a bunch of u/16's players in comparison to W.C. a few weeks ago. A disgrace!!!

Here here. Who the hell decides to base there team on fremantles model after them making the finals once in the last billion years. and where are they now? where we are. ah neale neale. poor decision. We were on our way last year and now we are a skinny rabble.

Dunn said he LOST weight over the pre-season and that it wasn't a priority for him now. Does ND really see him as a permanent winger?

paul johnson is going to be a very good footballer for the dees

Who knows. I remember ND saying that he wanted Dunn to be prepared to play a variety of roles, which he has in his few games this year (up forward against Freo, ran with Cornes in the last against Port, midfield/backline against Eagles and Dogs).

Strange decision though, because whilst I think it's better for the moment to have Bate as the lead-up CHF ahead of Miller, and then have Sylvia in the forward line, we still need an answer for Neita when he departs. Miller won't be that answer, and FWIW, I hope he gets traded at the end of the year. Unless they're banking on Newton to fill in there (which doesn't seem likely given the reluctance to give him a shot) or they're hoping to pick up a ready-made FF at the end of the year (highly unlikely), Dunn will probably just have to put that weight back on and focus on playing deep in the forward line.

It's possible too that ND's trying to get Dunn to play like Griffen, but I doubt that will work. Interesting to see what happens over the next year or so.

Its modern day football, pace and agility is more important than strenght unless your a big backmen playing of Hall or Brown. Dunn's role in the middle was good whilst Brock, Green and Moloney were out, now hes back at Sandy developing at CHF before playing later in the year. Robbo can hold up full forward with a young player and I'm starting to believe the club are grooming Newton to play full forward once Neitz is gone, holding him at Sandy must only increase his desire to play (that said if he holds his form and hasn't played in the next 5 weeks I'd be really pissed off)

We need to get newton intot the team to give him a feel of the game. Put him deep and give him ago with Neita pushing up kicking them from 50.

There's 11 games left in the season...plenty of time. He's only really played 4 reasonably good games in the twos, let him really push for a spot rather than being handed it. I heard he had attitude problems (i forget where i heard this), so it may be a good thing to let him earn a spot.

In saying that, i hope he plays very soon.:D
