Watching the Geelong v Collingwood game last night I think the person who had the greatest impact on the game was the Geelong Coach. Scott out-coached Malthouse to win the game. He did it on the day with strategy and match-ups, and he did it with the tweaking of a champion team, minus a champion player, over the pre-season. Introducing new players, re-assigning experienced players, and re-designing aspects of the game-plan have been the keys, along with a general freshness that a new coach brings. Lets face it, not a lot needed to change, but he has changed things.
When Geelong and Fremantle go head to head it is going to provide a fantastic edge to the contest for me as a supporter. We are teams at different stages of development, and our development has benefited from having Scott's presence. Of course they impact every game, but I think good coaches jag 3-4 games a season from their coaching in individual games. How Harvey and Scott go head to head will be very interesting.
