Lets hope we can stay out of the bottom 4. 3 in a row against teams that dont set the world on fire but the next game vs Brisbane is our big test. We havent beaten anybody in the top 8 this season as far.

The confidence our playing group would have gained over the last month of footy far outweighs any impact a potential first or second pick in the draft would have for us next season.

True, but if Melbourne can beat Brisbane, I imagine that we can do the same. There seems to be a real frailty to every team this year. Gelong as not as unbeatable as they were last year (though paradoxically they may yet prove to be even better in retrospect), Hawthorn looked like world-beaters but have stumbled a couple of times. Even the Bulldogs looked vulnerable on a number of ocassions - including againt us. It seems as if anything is possible this season.
Also, by the way, since we won a couple of weeks ago tanking is obviously off the table. Since it is no longer an option, I feel no need to 'want' it anymore even though I believe that it is the way the system works. I never stoped barracking for us on game-day (how could any true supporter) but at least now I feel chuffed throuout the week reflecting on a 'win' and looking at the mathematics of making the eight rather than finishing last. And the best positive is that Carelton won't get first pick either. Everoyone's a winner!

It goes to show that some of our younger guys are better then we think and getting wins under their belt might be the best way to develop.

Agree. The way the players responded in the last 2 weeks when Carlton hit the front in the last & Fremantle only 6 pts down today in the last was fantastic! We kept our heads under pressure & didnt fall to bits like we have the past several seasons.
Great for the young blokes confidence, and thank god we're moving well away from the spoon. I really hope we now start rattling some top 8 teams, starting with bris...and then the pies in 3 weeks.
True. Those final quater efforts in both this week and last week's games have been the mark of a team on the rise it seems to me. A real pity about Fletch. But it is wonderful to see Lloyd stepping up. In my opinion, his leadership is what is lifting the kids to better performances.

Carlton were 9th when we beat them (the 2nd time
).....the Roos beat the Hawks the day before! Anyway, we'll just have to beat Brisbane then!

I think it's awesome! Confidence is such a big thing in this game. Which was especially notible during our losing streak. Heads were down at half time and the like.
However, as we keep winning, and gaining confidence, *and* learning our new style - and this is a big one - it seems like forever ago that people were lauding, then bagging our new gameplan... and now that we're winning, it seems forgotten.
If we can win the next few weeks, it will be wonderful for our young list, who are no longer relying on our veterans week-in week-out.

Great to see that things are starting to come together for the team. Theres no priority pick now and nothing beats winning. Hopefully they can give some of the top teams a scare between now and the end of the season.
