Outside Players

This is the list of players who I rate as pure 'outside' players - receivers for want of another word. The first list are those that are senior regulars; the second are those a bit away from being senior players.

My view is we have too many of this type of player and not enough of the in-and-unders.

Harsh though this may be, I feel we should perhaps be trading some of these guys and picking up an early (pick 1 preferably) draft pick - kind of like how Hawthorn have done with Trent Croad and Luke Hodge.

Do you think this is a valid strategy to take?

fine on print chris but of the lot who would attract a high draft pick?
pettifer-nope but on trade table yes.
campbell-only because he is capt.nope.
bowden-may attract a high pick.definitley a trade proposition.
fiora-id say he would attract a high pick but only with a pick from us attached to it or another player.nope not to be put on the trade table this kid is our future.
cameron-no high pick would be offered-this will be his last port of call.
houlihan-no side would even consider a top 50 pick-yes tradeble but would be suprised to get any bites.
tivendale-same like fiora as far as high pick goes..trade bait yes.
knights-will be his last year.
i agree with the strategy chris but apart from bowden i cant see any player crediable enough to get a high pick.[otto,richo and gas excluded].

We had a chance yesterday up until Richo's hammy went again- Some of those players should go off to the room of mirrors.Good call Chris

actually we may get the type of midfeilder we need.he is currently playing for the eagles he,s strong, hard at it and definitley a player who dosent take little steps.
the down side to this he has done his knee twice.
chad morrison.
would we take the punt on him?
could his knee troubles be because of the subi ground?
what would we have to give up to get him?
maybe coughlan who its well known how he was overjoyed about coming to melb and a draft pick?
food for thought or just too risky?

I'd dump Pettifer, Knights, possibly Fiora and possible Bowden. We could get some real tough at it nut for Bowden which is what I'd love to have another of in the side (I consider the Kellaway's the nuts ) however when Bowden finds form, he plays well for us.
