Funny. I see it exactly the opposite. Masten is constantly criticised, when his last 6 weeks have been as good as any.

Thursfield has been hyped for years as the best young fullback, but has struggled to keep his spot.

I think he will be an excellent player but the Bombers fans are getting a little carried away, i think i've heard "All Australian" and "Rising Star".
What they forget is he is one of the leaders the reverse coleman!

What i also find funny is the fact that Essendon fans often brag about having the best up and coming defence in the league. However, there is a thread on their board specifically dedicated to asking why does someone always kick a bag against them.

They have very similar stats to the Carlton defence yet Carlton's defence is non existant in many people's eyes.

They could have a great defence in the future im not disputing that, but they're getting ahead of themselves.

When he actually plays a half decent game, commentators and the media alike taint him as the future of the collingwood football club and there structure up forward.

If thats not being rated, im not sure what is tbh

Underrated: Liam Anthony. Why hasn't he got a Rising Star nomination yet...

Possibly it's because he's too old to be eligible for the Rising Star award which has been said so many damn times before.

-Gary Ablett Jr. [especially by champion data]. I think he's the best player in the comp, but the gap is quite narrow.
-Chris Yarran. Got drafted, that's overrated enough for me.
-The inability of Victorians to recognise interstate talent.

Underrated:
-Paul Chapman. Obviously he's rated highly, but at his best he's as good as anyone.
-Alan Toovey. Far from a gun, but a solid contributor who does his job every week. His disposal lets him down, but he is underrated even by our own supporters.
-Brad Sewell. I think a lot of people acknowledge he's a gun, but is really one of the best midfielders in the comp.

Stacks more but I can't be bothered.

-Alan Toovey. Far from a gun, but a solid contributor who does his job every week. His disposal lets him down, but he is underrated even by our own supporters.

Alan Toovey isn't underrated, yeah he has a solid defensive part of his game but the offence side is pretty awful, probably deservedly ranked - maybe a little low but not enough to give him underrated status.

Of course I have. Don't get me wrong, I like Rioli and he's a great player to watch, but the wraps on him just don't add up to his output; so I can only asume it's all about his potential. Cyril wriggles his hips, shimmies and then kicks to space in front of a forward contest and everyone gets a 3 hour hard on.
