What do you think we have more of an excess in. HBFers or forwards? Where is the better variety?

I can't quite decide.

HBFers -
Johnson
Shaw
O'Brien
Cox
Toovey
Clarke
Maxwell
Goldsack
Reid

Forwards -
Reid
Davis
Medhurst
Didak
Anthony
Thomas
Rocca
Dawes
Cloke
Rusling
Macaffer

You've lost me a bit with this one, mate. Why are we comparing two spots in the back half to six in the front half?

I'd look at it more like this;

HBFers -
Johnson
Shaw
O'Brien
Cox
Toovey
Clarke
Maxwell
Goldsack

HFFers -
Davis
Medhurst
Didak
Thomas
MacAffer

... and then you've got key forwards and pockets, such as Rusling, Rocca, Anthony etc. Reid will also fit into this category at some point, but right now could be played anywhere.

So in answer to your question, we have more HBFers, but the average in quality of the HFFers is higher. I'm not sure how to address the "variety" part of the question, there's quite a bit of variety in each.

I think there is variety in both groups. Clarke, Maxy, Tooves (as a tagger) and Johnson can all play in the midfield, as can Thomas, Didak, Medhurst and Davis. Both Reid and Anthony can switch down back and Rocca can (or could) ruck. I think we will take the most well-rounded and skilled from each group and groom them for the midfield (where we've been lacking in skill and toughness for a fair while).
