Or you could stop supporting them until the sacks of sh*t are gone. Plenty of fans have done that for other teams.

That's a choice everyone is able to make.

I'd lose all interest in following my team if they became some vile campaigners play thing.

That's a choice you'll have to make if it ever eventuates.

Pointing out what you'll tolerate isn't a strawman by the way.

But suggesting (twice) that I am tolerating it just because it leads to us being competitive is.

And you've made your choices that validate the owners of the club.

Are you still supporting the team if some Neo Nazis took over?

The replies from Newcastle supporters in the comments are embarrassing. Imagine shilling for MBS on twitter so you can win some games of football. Non-existent moral character.

Thought this reply was good:

My choice is to support my football team as I have done for over a quarter of a century. Nothing more, nothing less.

My support for the club never validated the ownership of the club before so I dont know why it does now all of a sudden.

Yep. And lets be clear they dont give a sh*t about Newcastle. Its just the easiest vehicle for them to acquire in the PL to showcase their soft power. 5 years and a few billion pounds later they will be known for Newcastle winning the league and less known for their horrific human rights record. Im betting they'll throw everything Mbappe in January because they know it will piss of their Qatari nemesis over at PSG.

Is there gonna be a 70% wages to turnover rule in the PL like other leagues?

Cos that will hold them back significantly.
How is Abu Dhabi known on this board and others?

Even taking out your billion and one comments about them I suspect a cursory examination will show that if they bought the club to enhance their reputation amongst football supporters its been a spectacular failure.

When fans don't constantly call out their owners, protest, call for them to leave the club despite knowing they are evil shit lords then that is indeed validating their presence at the club.

What pressure have Man City fans placed on these owners for them to **** off?

General question, isn't tiring having so much hate to something that really has no bearing on your life?

Sport is all about passion mate, people are going to be passionate about things impacting on that.

Yes generally having empathy for others can be exhausting. Some people do attempt to have some though. Not wanting the Saudi investment fund to own Newcastle/rejecting sportswashing isn't about having hate, it's about caring for/supporting the people who they oppress. But given you've consistently demonstrated a lack of willingness to engage in critical thinking about football and similar topics it's unsurprising that such nuance is lost on you.

Who is hating what?

But it does.

With out these shit stains money who knows, the league might be a little more open to the rest of the league to compete for higher up spots on the table.

Excuse me? Not sure why you're attacking me?

Also not sure where I have "demonstrated a lack of willingness to engage in critical thinking about football and similar topics". Interested if you can please provide examples.

I mean just in the last two pages of this thread you've suggested that people anti-takeover are motivated by 'hate' and supported posts suggesting that this takeover is worth celebrating/is acceptable because starved Newcastle fans might now enjoy some success. To me that shows that your position on this topic is sorely lacking in perspective. But we don't need to derail the thread with personal callouts, so I shall refrain from engaging in them moving forward. Apologies for any offence caused.

Might have me confused with someone else considering I have only made one post in the last two pages, let alone I don't know how many before that.

I think you may have misconstrued what I meant.

I haven't mentioned Newcastle at all, and I haven't given it much thought. I am not as invested as some others here in football - evidently - and I don't give ownership around any football club, including my own, too much thought.

It was a genuine question that you may have looked too far into. It just strikes me as a little unusual - for perhaps lack of a better word - that people get so fired up arguing with random screen names on a forum where neither side will change their mind, irrespective of what each party says.

Thank you for the apology.

How Abu Dhabi is known on here is pretty irrelevant. Internationally they are associated more with Manchester City and the image of winning. Its the same motivation behind Qatar taking over at PSG and its the same motivation driving the Saudis to buy whatever club they can find.

Football supporters are the one group sportswashing owners really dont care about. Its entirely relevant in the discussion about ownership of clubs as there are plenty who dont want ownership who are linked to oppressive governments involved in football for good reason.

He might be referring to the fact you've liked a few posts from Moomba suggesting Newcastle fans should be happy that they're spending more money on new players.

I can only speak for myself, but I feel no pressure to protest against the owners of the club or tell them to **** off.

When did I say that?

Would Bojan KantKick accept Saudi ownership at Old Trafford?
Not a ****ing chance in hell. I'd go and buy a Stevenage season ticket. I have no interest in supporting a club whose purpose is for sportswashing. Our rivals would change to PSG and City and any other Arab play toy clubs. Why the **** would I care about that. We don't need a rich owner, we just need owners that don't take money out of the club.

Although Cruyff didn't like that post in fairness, he liked the post about not caring about who's in the boardroom because you just like watching football.

Goddamn those bastards at Amnesty International. Can't they just let geordie_fan9 enjoy signing some new players and winning a few more games without asking them to think about the blood money which is financing it all! The gall.
