As a long-suffering Bluenose, the last few weeks have been a real rollercoaster. The delight of the BSHL era finally coming to an end with the Knighthead takeover, and people who actually have money, a vision, and ambition for the club. Then our GOAT, Trevor Francis passed away unexpectedly which was a terrible blow at the dawn of this new era, he would undoubtedly have been appointed a global ambassador by the new board. And now the excitement of Tom Brady getting involved. I wondered why the club had left No. 12 vacant when they announced the squad list recently - now we know! There are exciting times ahead for Blues, although I will settle a mid-table finish at this stage. If John Eustace can achieve that and then when the FFP shackles are released for us next summer, we can splurge a bit of cash to make a promotion push.

There is a possibility that Carlisle United could be taken over by Florida-based logistics businessman Tom Piatak, he is the CEO of Magellan Transport Logistics, which isn't one of the largest logistics companies in the US but is one of the fastest growing with revenue more than doubling over the last two years.

American businessman in Carlisle United talks

If it happens, hopefully it will give the club a little stability after the cloud that has been hanging over our head the last 4/5 years.

I've seen a few of these rumors around. At this stage I'd say it is likely a tactic to get the Glazers to hurry up and sell Utd to the sportswashers.

If it were to be true that would end my support of LFC. Simply will not support a club owned by a sportswashing royal family member of a human rights abusing ME state.

You could become the second Brighton and Hove Albion fan on the board.

Who the **** takes indykaila seriously?

Who the * takes indykaila seriously?

Isn't he some troll who works for a KFC store around the Liverpool region ?

It was always a ploy to boost the share price. Worked too.

On the plus side United fans probably don't have to undertake mental gymnastics to defend human rights abusers / sportswashers.

I see Utd's share price took a dive 18% upon the news of the club sale likely not going ahead.

Share price still far above pre club sale announcement though in Nov last year. So it's still a huge win for the Glazers.

If they really want 10 billion to sell the club that means they want $61 USD per share - triple the current share value of the club!! Can see the only interest at that price being despot petro state sportswashers.

Clear implications here for Newcastle staff / players that dare to speak out against the Saudi govt.
In reality there's no clear implications at all.

In reality there's no clear implications at all.

As the owner of Newcastle has just sentenced someone to death over nothing more than a critical tweet yes there are clear implications.

Newcastle' s owner also has a history of silencing critics - permanently.

Not the sort of ownership that should be in the PL IMO.

I am sure you will disagree on that.

John Henry backed Trump who liked to silence his critics, obviously not with death but still anti-democratic. Should be removed as an owner.

Whether they should be allowed to own a club in the premier league is irrelevant, they do own one.

And unless the law has changed since I last looked, there is no death penalty in the UK, Saudi Arabia has no legal authority, and they have shown no inclination to punish people that speak negatively about the football club.

The implications for football and football clubs are zero. It's one of your more ridiculous ideas, and really nothing to do with football or this message board.

I agree with this.

Season 4 Episode 21 GIF by The Simpsons

I know it's painful, but I can't just ignore people that have an axe to grind taking repeated pot shots at me and who keep on questioning my integrity and character without a response.

Sorry, perhaps I should just ban myself from viewing the thread altogether. Would be a shame, as I think genuine discussion on football ownership would be really interesting.
I may set up a separate sportswashing thread as it seems to be spreading into every thread.

That stuff can get posted there and I'll just delete posts about it elsewhere.
