Love Oysters, prefer them Kilpatrick but dont mind them Natural.

Went to Coffin Bay last year, it was awesome, spent the day fishing with the fiance, went back to the house, cracked a stubbie and then shucked open a dozen Oysters and knocked them back whilst watching the sun go down. The Oysters were massive and only cost us 5 bucks, cant beat that.

Voted kilpatrick, although oysters aren't at the top of my list.

My favourite would be prawns though. These crappy ones I always get served up at restaurants taste nothing like freshly caught prawns from the river.

Caught an octopus on a day out on the boat and tried to cook it as soon as we got home. Turned out really tough though. What Ive found works is freezing it first, then chuck it in a pot straight from the freezer. Tender every time.

I don't LOVE them but I like them. Seafood.. I can bear, crabs and lobsters I can eat them but I don't like them. Oyster actually ranks pretty highly for me out of all the seafood.

Sydney Rock > Pacifics
Killpatrick bacon and wouster no tomaoe paste like they do in NSW and Qld
Natural is great too
They grow all over the rocks up here in Qld.

In Min Tahn 11 Victoria Street they do a oyster Mornay with veg in it
It is a great French/Vietnameese combination

Kilpatrick = delicious.

Bit of lemon = delicious.

Am open to trying them prepared any other way.

I find Squid to be a lot more tender than Octopus. Every time ive eaten octopus its been tough, chewy and tasteless.

Oh man.

Went to Sydney a few months back and the local Mediterranean seafood place made octopus with a sundried tomato and chilli type dressing.

The taste was most certainly a food-O.

Best octopus I've ever had.

Good octopus certainly exists, perhaps it's about finding the right place, or a good recipe.

Love 'em.
Usually have mine natural, or with just some lemon juice on them.
Kilpatrick are pretty good also.

Love all seafood - Morton Bay Bugs would be my favourite though. :thumbsu:

We had a mates 30th at the Southport Yacht Club and he was kind enough to put on a magnificent seafood spread for his guests. The Moreton Bay Bugs were the absolute highlight, bbq'd and served with a delicious garlic butter. I reckon i smashed 5-6 of the critters they were so tasty!!! :thumbsu:

Moreton Bay bugs are the best.

I would like to thank the thread starter as you reminded me to put in for my seafood order for the xmas hols - 2 weeks for me and a house guest from sunny Melbourne - oysters/bugs and prawns will definitely be on the menu at my place. :thumbsu:

I can just taste it washed down by chilled Crownies.

I love oysters. In fact, I love most seafood. I haven't tried any seafood that I don't like. As far as oysters go, it's got to be either natural or kilpatrick ... I don't really like mornay that much.

Last Tuesday I was down on Bruny Island, just off Hobart. We went out into the oyster beds and hooked one of the racks up onto the boat. Opened them, shucked them and swallowed them down, 30 seconds after we'd lifted them out of the ocean! Absolutely magnificent! Later on we cooked some down on the beach Tempura style, with just a dash of sour cream mixed with wasabi. The rest we had natural with a little lime juice and chilli splashed over them. Great times! :thumbsu:
