lol. Him and Gerald Healy must have changed their minds about who was going to win about 10 times. Every time either side would get ahead by a kick they would change their minds and call them game. Second Geelong game I have watched in 2 years and it was getting really annoying.

It was funny when Parko was saying dog never pushes up the ground (which is absolute bollocks) then 1 minute later dog takes a mark at HB.

Parko is not a Geelong hater though, I disagree there. He actually was a consultant during the review last year.

Both Healy and Parkin were terrible, if you switched off the video and just listened to them you would have thought the Cats were down by 40pts.

The theory that Adelaide was doing extremely well, they used this all the time. Do they know the Cats haven't won there in a premiership season in 7 years? Do they know that for the last 2 years the Cats barely won interstate?

Sure they do, yet they didn't want to praise Geelong for grinding out the win, as Adelaide was trying to do.

One thing I was jacked about was Healy constantly saying 'Physiologist', I know there is Physiotherapists, is he just getting his words mixed up or is there an actual medical expert of this nature ??

Healy was worse. Kept going on about how Adelaide was bound to win. Pissed me off immensely. Even though we were up gave us no chance, is an idiot.

Loved his comment about NA and Hawkins not working well together in the last 5 weeks.

:D

yeah that was a classic. :D

I like Parko but he really has no idea about our club. I bet the last game he seen us play was the WCE game where he did special comments for fox.

A little bit of respect please gents...knows just a wee bit about the game. Was ahead of his time as a coach and is a respected lecturer and academic. I have had the pleasure of him lecturing me previously and is an extremely intelligent and forward thinking individual. A couple of uninformed comments doesn't make for ridicule.

ALthough he did say Geelong just need to win the game regardless of the margin. Good for the Club

No they we're both right, given Geelong's easy wins this year we had to win the way we did today. And how good was it! We will win heaps of respect because of today's win.

True. They had to win and they did. Although I couldn't give a flying feck about "respect" - it doesn't earn you premiership points. I prefer to be hated. And if we keep doing what we doing - winning - we will be. Keep going Cats.

I thought that there must have been something I'm missing. Obviously sixteen points - which was as big as the margin got - was insurmountable compared to the comebacks on Friday night and yesterday!

Does anyone know Healy's views on the performance of S. Australian teams at AAMI in close games? I think he mentioned it in passing once, but I must have missed it.

I like Healy but this was not one of his best. I think the game has passed Parkin by.

Healy said that it was dangerous if the Crows were within a kick going into the last quarter because they have the ability to find 2-3 quick goals and win it even if it is against the flow of play. He kept on about for the whole quarter so I don't see why you missed it.

Sorry I'll turn my sarcasm up a little next time! ;) He went on about it through most of the second half: I reckon he said it about fifteen times, but I'll do a count when I watch the replay and provide an official figure!

it's funny how sarcasm is lost in posts
;):D

Sort of. A physiologist studies living organisms, a physiotherapist offers a physical form of treatment. I didn't hear Healy's comments, but I'd assume he's incorrectly distinguishing between sports scientists and medical teams. Biomechanics and scientific (non-quackery) kinesiology etc, are all disciplines of physiology. It's such a broad term that it's effectively useless, your local chemist or nurseryman is technically a physiologist.

I don't think the game's passed Parkin by, rather his interest in the sport has waned to the point where he'll no longer pay attention to games outside his own broadcast match, or to individual players. But he's always struck me as having a solid understanding of a club's psyche and the fundamentals of team-building, leadership etc, which I value in his comments.

Definitely agree with the latter, its more some of his comments on the tactical aspects and his broader knowledge which as you say may be lacking. On team building I thought the choice of him to do the review was first rate.

Gerard Healy is a qualified physiotherapist - for those speculating that's what he meant earlier I doubt he'd mistake the name of his own profession!

Then (to German) he'll definitely be referring to some kind of sports scientist when using the term physiologist.
Idiotic position title that tells you little. Lollipop lady is more clearly defined.
