The problem though, was Jordan was ALREADY contemplating leaving the game, before the tragic loss of his father. He had said in many interviews after, that he lacked the desire and the challenges to continue, and was discussing leaving basketball with his dad.

He may have come back for a fourth or maybe even fifth, but IMO he wouldn't have been able to sustain any desire remaining for a further 5 straight years, after winning the first threepeat. But then, anything can happen.

As for the last line, well can't disagree there.

Yes, fair enough.

That still doesnt change the fact that had he never retired he probably would have won 8 straight titles. He was just amazing!

Hakeem and Patrick are / were both great players but Hakeem is definitely the better player. Hakeem simply recorded better numbers in virtually every aspect of the game. And even if you think Hakeems rings were jaded, which I think is trash it doesn't make a difference in the argument over who is better between Patrick and Hakeem. The fact is when they met on the biggest stage Hakeem beat him and got his team the title. I also believe at that time that Patrick had better back up then Hakeem. Hakeem has 2 rings, 2 finals MVP's and an MVP, Patrick has nothing

Yeah but there is nothing in it.

Olajuwon's career averages...21.8 and 11.1
Ewing's career averages...21.0 and 9.8

Hardly anything between them, i just think Olajuwon had a bit of luck and better supporting cast when they met in the 94 NBA Finals.

Olajuwons career numbers will continue to dive now though and will probably end up below that of Ewing's as he is almost useless now.

Just on pure ability, not how many rings, awards etc each has, I rate Ewing in front of Olajuwon but only just. Best of the big 3 that graced us during the 90's. Just my opinion though.
