His dad Revis Ryder played 31 games for East Fremantle and had his son follow in his foot steps this year by playing some great games for the blue and white in the later part of the year.

I wish the AFL could change this bloody father son rule to 25 games before the draft! Robbed of another homegrown talent.

I'd be happy to trade Medhurst and Gilmore/Woods/Smith/early 2nd rounder for a top 5 pick if it gave us a chance at him.

Crowley, Murphy, Mundy and Thornton are all Eastern Staters and they have done well. The aim of the national draft is not to take the best local talent... its to take the best talent available.

It would take a pick in the top 3 to guarantee us Ryder. Pick 3 would cost us Polak + Medhurst. The tigers are rumoured to be considering pick 8 for Polak. Kennedy will probably still be available at 8 and will be ready to play next year. Gilmore's worth little, Woods and Smith aren't worth anything.

Pick 3 would cost more than Polak and Medhurst since my team wouldn't hand over 4, because like the Hawks they're also going for kids.Polak's and Medhurst's value have fallen after a poor year combined with their personalities and Kennedy won't fall to 8.

Polak's 21, Medhurst is 23 so both are still young (Medhurst just signed so won't be traded anyway). Both players have gone backwards because we have a dud coach and other teams would bring that into consideration when dealing with Fremantle.
