Ahh bevo,for the last 2 years I though u were gone,but if u don't nearly empotomize the BLOODS ethos then not many others do..But for Gods Sake please start kicking straight!!!!
 
Always liked Bevan. Sure he had a rough first few years, but I thought his raw courage and guts was enough to get him over the line.

The amount of times he puts himself in Kamakazi positions and comes off unscathed is just unbelievable.

He is insane, basically. But in the words of Steve Jobs, he's insanely great.


I actually disagree and think he's actually one of our more accurate kicks.
 
I was concerned today with his decision making in the back half. He was slow t decide what to do and caused turnovers or didn't get to contests.

Up forward he ran into space nicely and slotted a few but regardless Im not stating as a top game as it wasn't, it was a mixed affair.

I agree with this... I like Bevan and really want him to succeed, but he just makes too many errors... he has the ability, and he can be great in small passages, but he rarely ever puts in a complete performance...

for example, yesterday he had a great chance to kick his fourth goal for the game but missed an easy opportunity... it's just little things like that, that make the difference between a decent game and a great game... Bevan usually manages a decent game... but just does those 2-3 things in a game that really cost us...

he could be an awesome player if he just got the consistency, but i don't think he's got it in him... still a good depth player for the club, and doing a good job atm

I'm being a bit facetious. Part of the problem is that he is not a full time defender. It's taken himself and the club a while to work that out. He does get exposed down back, and the club had him training as a defensive forward in the pre-season this year, injuries have required that he play down back more than what was planned. When he's freed up to go forward more regularly we've seen him at his best.

+1. His kicking is good, he is ridiculously hard at it and he is a local. What's not to like?

lol. the guy kicked one good goal but was gifted a couple of goals, and actually nearly ran into Goodes when Goodes was running into an open goal all by himself! what the hell was bevan thinking bringing his man into Goodes' open path??

he's continually exposed in defence and the midfield in key one-on-one contests.

if he's kept out of defence, he doesn't have a hugely negative impact, but any spud can take handballs running into an open goal.

Dear GWS - please take bevan as our uncontracted donation.

Always rated Bevo. He's as hard as nuts and has taken his game up a level this year. Kicks goals and hardens our forward defensive structure. When he goes back he doesn't just make up the number either. His tackle on Judd in the 2nd - crunch !
 
I've always had a soft spot for Bevan because he's a New South Welshmen and tackles really hard, my favourite element of AFL.

He's still really unbalanced as a player though. A great tackler and occasional goal kicker, but he gives heaps of frees away and almost never gets over 20 disposals.

Full credit to his game against Carlton though. Almost kicked 4.

2010 averaged 0.7 FA and 0.6 FF per game. One of the lowest FA stats in the team and certainly low for a defender.

The seconds are certainly missing him at the moment, and it also helps when someone like Garlett is guarding him in the FWD 50.

Please don't refer to any SWANS player as a spud. Bag him, criticise his game but show some respect for one of ours who gives his all so we fans can enjoy boasting rights, even if he's not your favourite. Just slagging off players can make you sound arrogant, ignorant and opinionated, which I'm sure you're not.

Bevan's snap from half-forward under pressure after a quick hand from Jack (last goal of the 2nd) was a superb goal.
