would prefer him to the man with no trophies in his cabinet, neale daniher

He's was like a recurring nightmare for Dons supporters, and a forwards erotic dream.

He was another of Sheed's projects.

He actually turned into a reasonable player and although i'm not suggesting him as our coach, he is probably the type of player that could make a coach, just not for us, please

I think you're being a bit charitable there Swervyn.

Now, for your first job as the new Mod ( congratulations ), please arrange the return of Ant robus.

It was great to hear that Paul Hamilton will be interviewed for the coaching position at Essendon.

I am a passionate Kangaroos member/supporter and i was sorry to see "Hammer" depart Arden Street to join the crows some years ago! He was a real plus and a valuable asset during his time as an assistant coach at North Melbourne. We had lost a technically good footy person who was so well respected by all at the footy club! Our loss was a REAL gain for the Adelaide Crows!

Hamilton played a huge role in the development of Drew Petrie, Daniel Harris, Corey Jones, Daniel Motlop, Leigh Harding, David Teague & Digby Morrell during his time as coach of the Murray Kangaroos. He had instant success as coach of the Murray kangaroos improving them from near last to within a kick of a VFL Grand Final in his first season and remained a force until our affiliation with Port Melbourne in 2003. He then worked closely with Anthony Stevens, Daniel Wells, Shannon Grant, Brent Harvey, Brady Rawlings, Jess Sinclair, Troy Makepeace, Michael Firrito and many others during his time as Assistant and Midfield Coach under Dean Laidley for the last couple of seasons. Hamilton took most of the credit for our 'high inside 50's' forward line entries in the last couple of seasons.

Hamilton has had previous senior coaching experience when coaching Glenorchy to a flag and Woodville West Torrens to a Grand Final. He played most of his football with Essdendon and Glenelg. He got the most out of his ability during his playing days and played every game in 1990 when Essendon lost the grand final. Hamilton was named one of Essendon's best player that day when he played on Gavin Crossisca.

Hammilton was always approachable to myself and all other Kangas fans during his time with us particularly at family days, training sessions and members cocktail functions. He would always find time to talk footy, answer all questions and reply to my emails. He communicated so well with myself and my little group of fellow Kangas fans who attended all Kanga Melbourne games. He has been sorely missed and hopefully he'll be able to land a senior AFL coaching role at Essendon or even a possible return to Arden Street in the future!

He was a below average defender, although it shouldnt reflect on his coaching abilities. Just hope he's a better coach than he was a defender or we're in trouble if he become appointed.
