honestly he would get a game at most other clubs just choco wont give him a go!

yeah but that's still just speculation. he needs to do something before people speak about him in the way that they do.

Maybe he will work out, maybe he won't. They idea that he has shown he can be an AFL CHF is laughable at this point, he has not shown or proven anything yet.

Are you guys for real? Firstly Pav is under contract meaning even if Pav said "trade me, trade me, trade me" Freo could say "see ya next year at pre-season training Pav" and that would be that.

The Crows would have to give WAY MORE than market value otherwise Freo would just keep their 22 year old dual all australian. Perrie, Stenglien, Goodwin and a first and second rounder maybe.

Secondly, Pav extended his contract this year. Thats right... he decided to stay longer than his current contract.

Not meaning this as a troll but obviously the crows recruiting focus would be better at a realistic target.

Hey RooDog. I quoted myself here just to emphasise my point. Please read the words in capital letters and get back to me.

As I said he's our contracted player.

so... if he wanted to be a bastard he could sit the year out... not saying he would do anything like that but if he asked to be traded i think they would if the deal was right... especially after the way some of your own have been having a dig at him in the last 1/2 of the year and perhaps he could come back and bash up byron pickett for getting with his 18yr old sister every weekend!!:p

if he is disgruntled at Freo and wants to be traded and Freo deny him this request do you really think he will play good consistant footy? I wouldnt of thought so he would just be passing time whilst as he is going through the motions his trade value is declining and by the time his contract ends he is worth alot less than a player of his statue should be.
Im not saying this would happen or Pav is disgruntled but its a possibility so if you think something like this couldnt happen you are a bit naive. Anything can happen mate, its not called the silly season for nothing!

Look guys. I'm not trying to pick a fight but Pav did sign a contract extension this year and in NBA terms is a "franchise player". The loss in marketing, memberships etc if we traded Pav would be huge. Before Pav signed his last contract (not the extension) and Freo went 2-20 Pav asked to be traded. Freo said no. The next year Pav was all australian, second in the B&F and re-signed a contract.

Look at Heath Black for example. Wanted to come to Freo, trade got botched, Black plays good footy for the saints.

Freo are stupid at times but we are not that stupid.

Im not saying it will happen and I doubt very much that it will but all Im saying is anything is possible.
I know Freo arnt stupid (although you did get rid of Macca ;) )and would demand a hell of alot for him but what you stated earlier was a bit over the top.

Market Value - please discuss your understanding of this term.

I failed an economics degree but I would be thinking "all things being equal" the amount/quality of players/picks that a team would give to have Pav in the team.

Stenglien, Carr and a low (18-22) second rounder maybe. Even then I cringe. Trading Pav would rip the soul out of our team

But all things aren't equal. We have him under contract and thats where my ridiculous tatement comes in.

Getting closer haha :p
I would be prepared to give Stinger and our first rounder.

I'd dp Perrie, Stenglein, Goodwin and pick 18-22 for him, in a heatbeat ...

Exactly, the market value is what it would take to prise Pav from Freo. We not be paying way over market value for him.

1. Because what we pay and they accept = pretty good approximator of the market.
2. Because if Pav was at his peak value wise, freo just wouldn't get rid him. they just wouldn't and you're right about that. But others things can come into play, and if there are reasons why they want to trade him - well that's another matter.

That said, Stenglein & Carr would be a pretty good starting point on negotiations, and as they are both reputedly 'in play' anything can happen.

I'd give em perrie, stinga and our 1st round. maybe package with port.

If Freo were prepared to deal, I'd be nodding my head a bit, and saying 'OK' a lot.

I'd rather Waters than Pavlich.

Even if Matt wanted to come home, we'd have to sell the farm to get him, and consequently rip the heart out of our rebuilding. We can't afford to give up more than he is worth (which is what Freo would demand) because our playing list is weak as it is. Waters is more of a need in our current set-up, than Pav.

your possibly the only dockers person i have spoken to who thinks the pavlova has played with any soul this year. as i have said before, to have your 2 biggest midfielders in pavlich and headland receive on the outside of packs leaving little munchens like schammer, browne and even bell to get the hard ball its embarasing.

on another note, my uncle who works in a business firm in adelaide which is adament at that josh carr is going to stay at port. "josh wants to win a premiership with port, he will not leave until he does". apparantly carr is a very determined individual. this will probly help stengliens value rise.
