pc game lag problem

hey guys i had a belkin router for a couple of years and it died the other day. i got the same 1 just a new 1 at the shops but now when i play warcraft 3 online i get lots of lag/delay. it takes a while for chat to appear and it seems like my pc is really far behind.

any ideas on how to fix?

i dont think thats it because if i opened my ports that would allow me to host, so that should not stop me from lagging in games though
