Pearl Jam documentary

This was absolutely cracker. So happy to have been able to see this in a cinema, and will be good to watch it again at home. Bonus discs sound chubworthy.

Best parts for me were the writing of Daughter on the tour bus, the 1990 footage of their second show (pro shot mix, as lincspj mentioned), the pro shot Release 06 (still barred up), Ed talking about his friendship with Jeff, and Ed and the security guard when singing Breath.

After sleeping on it, I have a few gripes - lack of No Code and Yield sessions discussion being one - but that's not really a fault in the film, it's just me knowing too much about the band already!

Oh yeah, the way they gave Dave A about 5 seconds of attention was stupid. They compared him to Chamberlain FFS - the bloke who didn't even want to be in the band and drummed for a month.

Overall, it was superb.

yeh thats the triple pack im talkin about for 75 bucks... but you can buy the plain pj20 docco dvd (ie disk1) on its own, which wont have a full 4hrs of extras. i think the 4hrs is combined between the extras on disk1 and all of disk2 and 3??

Righto. I could probably do without Disk 3 though; 80 mins of randoms talking about PJ doesn't seem that necessary.

It was incredible. Cameron Crowe did a really smart job with it. So many highlights: the early concert footage, the Singles party, Eddie's fireman pole (!), nearly everything Stone says, Ed getting emotional when talking about his relationship with Jeff. It was truly amazing.

I read that the DVD has four extra hours of footage!

whats the deal with their relationship?

Movie can now be downloaded via the magic of torrents for those who missed it at cinemas. @ 1.75GB I would suggest it's decent quality too.

And yes, I will also be purchasing the Blu-ray when it comes out. Too many extras to pass up.

Was enjoying a few Pearl Jam songs last night and I thought I'd see if I could find any of the concerts online. Without any idea of this doco, I stumbled across it and watched it all last night, loved it! I didn't know much about Pearl Jam (other then their music as I was a bit young to know about them when they were at their peak) so it was very informative/interesting.

I decided I would check out "Mother Love Bone" the band that a couple of the guys were in previously and I came across this song for the first time ever and I love it:

I was wondering whether there were any other Pearl Jam documentaries out? If so, would love to know what they are called so I can check them out.

na there arent anymore doccos out there. if youre interested in finding out more about the band, then get onto the pearljam twenty book that was released a few months ago. it has more inside info than the movie, which seemed to scoot over a lot of detail (and about 8 yrs of music). it's a piss easy read in diary format and going cheap at the moment in time for xmas.

theyre one of the most highly bootlegged bands in the world, so theres never a shortage of concerts to watch or download.
