AFL: Moody the round-15 Rising Star nominee AFL Rising
MELBOURNE, July 18 AAP - Matthew Moody has become the third Brisbane Lions player to be nominated for the 2006 AFL Rising Star award.
The 20-year-old Moody played a key role in Saturday night's thrilling one-point win over the Kangaroos, collecting 18 of his 22 disposals after halftime and kicking a goal.
Moody has played 12 of the Lions' 15 matches so far in 2006 after making his senior debut last season.
He was recruited from WAFL club South Fremantle by the Lions with pick No.23 in the 2003 national draft.
The Lions' other Rising Star nominees this season were Michael Rischitelli and Cheynee Stiller

We know how good Pendles is, so the rest of the AFL community can bugger off.

He played an ok game, nothing exceptional. He didn't play well enough for a nomination.

To be honest, I've never really understood why people care so much about these noms.

FWIW Pendles will get one before year's end (if he keeps his form up), but what does it really matter?

By the end of the season Pendles will get one, but I am thinking along the lines of one of the most biased posts of the season sproulie. Moody has had a fantastic season, and may poll well in the final stages. Was best on ground from Voss IMO in the game against the Roos. Pendles is getting better each week it seems, and will go close. Remember, stats aren't everything (mainly pointing to last week's performance)

The man who has been overlooked is Nathan Foley!
